Unable to connect to internet via wireless in bridge mode

Evening all, been having this issue for quite a while now. I set my router to bridged mode in order to take advantage of route sentry, however when I attempt to dial a connection to the ISP from a laptop with wireless, it doesn't connect for some odd reason.

Anyone experienced similar issues, or knows how to work around this issue?

Let me get the facts straight here.

Your router has a wireless card built into it?

It connects to the internet via ADSL or something?

You then set it to bridged mode and try and create a pppoe session?

And you then discover that your laptop won't connect via the wireless anymore?

But it will create a pppoe session from a pc connected via ethernet?

Let me know.
 
It is a wireless router.

It is an ADSL connection

It is in bridged mode, and I try to dial a pppoe connection from the laptop.

The laptop cannot connect over wireless, but works fine with normal ethernet, or if the router is not in bridged mode.
 
Ok the bad news is that when you put the router into bridge mode it effectively becomes a dumb modem. Pretty much like the old analogue modems. They just sit there until another device makes a connection through them.

So if your router is in bridge mode, the wireless connection is no longer available.

This is the problem in the simplest of terms. Your router may be quite fancy and some advanced feature that allows this but I doubt it.

So either buy a cheap standard ADSL modem (Tenda from Duxbury for example), nothing more than R500 or get another wireless AP.
