Following ongoing debate over the WBS iBurst cap, there have been repeated suggestions that WBS should make Local Bandwidth uncapped (i.e. local sites would be accessible at full speed instead of 64Kbits/s).

This survey attempts to measure the iBurst target market's demand for more options with regards to Local Bandwidth. This is not a petition, it is market research, and WBS are not obliged to take notice or adjust their packages or service offering.

About voting: you can select multiple options before casting your vote, however you will not be able to change your vote once it has been cast, i.e. take your time and select the options that best fit your own requirements. The poll will be kept open for an unspecified time period (i.e. close to indefinite) so you have plenty of time to consider which options you want to vote for.

You are welcome to discuss any and all options in the thread itself.

I was actually busy pasting all the options into the poll, obviously vBulletin creates the thread first and then adds the poll. Thank you for your observation though.

I would ignore those percentages (a rounding thing) in this poll bcos it's a multiple choice poll - i.e. I would think vBulletin should be giving each option its own percentage according to the total number of voters.

Not a train smash, e.g. 1st option shows 4 out of 5, so that means 80% in favour of 1st option.
 
it uses a natural algorythym so the percentage gets more accurate the more votes there are

sweet, we needed this survey, wonder if iBurst see anything interesting about the stats. hummmmm, oh well, hopefully everything will be sorted ASAP.
 
Locally uncapped would put iburst atleast a bit closer to competing with ADSL.
 
Why I don't understand is :
48 votes, 34 iBursters, 4 possibles(me included). That gives 38. Why would the other 10 care what iBurst do or don't do ?

Only 34 ibursters on MyAdsl ? out of 4000 customers ? Food for thought....

I also find it interesting that <edited old_text="10">6</edited> voters decided not to indicate whether or not they are existing/potential customers or have rejected iBurst, but you need to remember that we never thought to include options like:
  • I am a WBS employee
  • I am an iBurst Reseller
;)

As to the speedlessness of the voting, so far 279 thread views, there will be a percentage of MyADSL guests that have viewed the thread. Anyways, I anticipated this before I created the polling thread - I did not set a closing date, and I also said forumites should take as much time as they need to figure out what they want to vote for (not that anyone listens to what I say ;)).

With 51 votes now, it is actually 7, not 10. So far interesting results :).
 
i think having 1 poll for all that is a bit stupid, because i am an existing wbs customer, and want uncapped local bandwidth, now i already voted for uncapped bandwidth, but now i can't vote again to say i am a wbs customer as well.....

defeats the purpose of a poll

Ummm, I don't follow, the poll allowed you to select multiple (more than 1 option) at the time of voting, perhaps I don't understand what you mean...?
