Since people from WBS do seem to participate in this forum I thought it would be cool if there was a thread that had no crap in it, just BS free comments/questions about your concerns so they could read it without having to browse through the usuall arguments and stuff. So just cut down through the poop and ask away. I just think that they're at a disadvantage on this forum as we can talk all sorts of crap to/about them but because they are on this forum in a professional capacity they can't operate on the same level, so try keep it clean.

My question: will I ever get a way to get uncapped access again (local or international) either with some sort of package offered by WBS or some 3rd party service?
 
Will user controlled throttling be possible to save on package amount while one has adequate bandwidth available?

Linking up with vowthorn's post, but adding another point of view :

In order to contain the d/l spree that's bound to happen just before monthend. will iBurst consider rewarding customers for bandwidth NOT used ?
3 options come to mind:
1. Rollover unused bandwidth (All, only xtra purchased, and/or up to a max)
2. Credit the account with the rand value of unused bandwidth(similiar options as above)
3. Implement some sort of iBucks scheme (sorry FNB) which can only be traded for additional bandwidth. For example : Every unused MB translate into 0.5 iBuck. 1 iBuck buys 1MB. Personally I would like this option if (1) can't be implemented


To limit users loosing additional bandwidth purchased, allow for 512MB chunks to be purchased
 
Just want to say thanks to WBS for offering us a decent package...it just needs a little work though
 
Attention WBS: Instead of forcing me to buy an extra amount of bandwidth that you decide in 1GB multiples, why can I not just choose the exact amount that I want to purchase?

For example, say I have 2 iso images to download, I estimate the amount of bandwidth required (actual size + say another 10% just in case), so I now know exactly how much bandwidth I want to purchase, why can I not do it?

Note: This is not a question for iBursters bcos I know at least 1 forumite is itching to supply their answer :(.

Aye, that it does, I just feel I should be able to decide exactly how much I want to purchase, and I would also prefer that there is a fixed per MB rate, i.e. no sliding scale stuff that WBS have put in their packages to catch people out that don't use the entire amount.
 
At this stage there is no roll over on unused bandwidth.

We are not looking at self created package, ie 1.78 gig, purchases, at this stage.

We are in early days however, and there are sure to be many new changes and policies which will be implemented. These will all be to your advantage I am sure.

Remeber - Feedback creates change.

I should mention that I don't expect to be able to purchase an exact amount of bandwidth tomorrow morning, my reason for asking the question is I get the impression that concrete is starting to set around what is & will & will not be possible as far as packages & options go.

I have been eagerly waiting to see what the WBS marketeers would come up with ITO packages & options, and my feedback is that I am disappointed with the launch packages - they are IMO very inflexible & I feel they are designed to WBS' advantage & to the customer's disadvantage.

Anyways that is my feedback, and I hope it is interpreted as being constructive, bcos I really would like more freedom & options. I could also be a minority, but that is also my right, so anyone itching to flame may as well not bother, bcos I ignore such things.
 
I personally feel, that if WBS wants to keep trend with Telkom, and impose (im talking about the 3gig cap only) cap idea, they should follow Telkom and drop their per 3 gig pricing as well, so to compete with ADSL directly.

WBS will be shocked to learn that there will be alot of change in that regard (adsl) and they would certainly fall short if they don't act now.

Sorry, but I'm tired of hearing this. You have had iBurst running for over a year now, and have had a pre-launch phase for just over 4 months. Excuses like this only makes me wonder how geared the management of WBS is to this venture. I.T on your side is definately up for the challenge and has proven to be on par... but it seems like management is holding back the process for improvement/change.

How you say.....red tape.... (translated into layman -> ego's needs to be pumped up and blow jobs need to be given before a decision is made)

The one thing I want to tell WBS:

You are in a deflationary industry. If you want to stay ahead of the pack, you have to keep offering more for less. Gear yourselves for it.

There will be no nice 5%-10% annual increases. You will have to grow your userbase faster than your margins shrink, and also keep your existing users from eyeing the competition.
 
Currently I pay £25 for 2 Meg line in London, when or will we ever see such pricing in SA?
 
another suggestion to WBS, is that they must listern to their customers. there must be something wrong is the majority is complaining
