Defenately Illegal...

Meh. In theory it isn't, hence why they are calling it back-ups. It's just illegal to buy them if you don't own the original.

They've been around for years. Basicly you buy a backup of a game or software that you own. They don't ask for proof though. So they are covered but you not.
