Good movies & Late nights

Just a little rant and rave. Why is it that SABC seems to have such junk on most of the day then suddenly when I'm ready for bed it seems to show some classic movies or even a decent series?? :confused: Are they trying to tap into the insomniac audience or something? Is it a price thing? The later the movie flights the less they pay to screen it? If you know explain it to me, at least I might understand the inner workings of the SABC mind :)

Multichoice has a habit of showing the best movies in the middle of the night. case in point: requiem for a dream, an imdb #69 not available in any video rental stores i`ve seen. shown 4 times around midnight

I agree with you. Same with BBC series...

As to recording it, I first have to clean up the hard drive as I have no space left. e.g. the entire 'Grensoorlog' series is there, my kids have plenty (probably animax) and my wife has discovery and home channel thingies.

Anyone know of a way to speed up the tansfet from the PVR hdd to another hdd?

I feed it to my PC's TV capture card and save as mpeg files. Then I convert about 4 episodes per dvd...

Any other way?
 
Same problem with ETV. All the good quality stuff comes on at midnight on weekends ffs :mad:
