Opposition to new forms of sharing content similar to Taxi complaints against BRT

Fair last comment. Drop prices and folks will buy originals instead of pirated goods (movies, music, etc).
 
Great read, the reaction from the NFL is a classic case of the totalitarian way businesses try and deal with new technology from which they can't profit. Imho with regards to the internet the definition of what is considered legal or illegal needs to be looked at.
