Hi,
I am not sure if this is under the correct topic but please move it if you need to.
Hoping someone can help me here...kind of at our wits end.
Trying to help my dad with a problem with Vodacom. He has 3 contracts in his name, my sisters, my mothers and his number.
About 6 weeks ago, my mom started getting "Please call me" sms's from a Vodacom number .
She ignored them, but then they started getting sent at night. In one night they came in at 10, 11, 12, 1, 2 and 3 clock in the morning.
My dad tried to phone the number, from her phone, but it gets picked up and put down straight away.
He has called Vodacom Help Desk, they say he needs to go to the police, he went to the police, they can't help and said we need to go to Vodacom.
One evening, my dad tried to call the number from his phone and see what happens. Same thing, picked up and put down. So he sms'd the number and asked them to stop, now he gets please calls me at all odd times during the day and night.
Eventually we figured out that you can block please call me's by dailing *140# etc...which worked for a short while - not with the help of Vodacom Call Centre but with the help of this forum!!!!
Now my mom and dad are both getting please recharge me messages at all odd times of the day.
My sister had also tried phoning the number, but the same results, she also sms'd the number to ask them to stop. Now she gets "please call me" sms's the whole time now as well.
She does not want to block please call me's on her number cause she actually uses it, but even if she does what stops this person from sending please recharge me sms's the whole time.
I suppose the easy thing to do is to switch your phone off at night, why should we, but besides that my dad travels a lot and my mom needs to keep the phone on in case of an emergency.
Does anyone know of anything we can do.
Vodacom does not seem to keen to help out on this situation.
