Who makes use of PLC 85/200mbps

Anyone making use of a PLC 85 or 200mbps homeplug. If so, does it refuse to work if it is connected to an extension lead?
 
I've got Netgear 4x200mbps - Only experience which didnt work was having a UPS or any lightning protector devices inbetween them. Also sometimes if plugs are on different circuit breakers it sometimes won't work (depends on the wiring work done)

If the extension lead has power to it it will work
If there is a break in the wiring circuit the extension lead will not work either

Uhmm, well that is obvious. The problem is that it basically slows my connection down and finally kills it.:(
