Baby girl found in bushes

The little girl, believed to be only two days old, was discovered inside a pink and white canvas bag, wrapped in a grey cardigan by a woman in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

The infant - named Rosie by medical staff who are now looking after her - was found with her umbilical cord still attached.

Maybe a teen? Wouldn't surprise me, as you hear so many stories of teen pregnancies etc. Feel sorry for the baby
 
:( very UNCOOL!!! What I hate most is people chucking babies in rubbish bins... like the are nothing more than rotten eggs and old chicken bones :mad:
 
yes, Mila, gotta agree. I just hope they never find the mom. and that she gets a real good home wherever she ends up

Geez, don't they have places like here where the baby can be dropped-off anonymous? At least that way the baby will be cared for :mad:
 
One thing I don't understand, and maybe the ladies can answer me on this:

You're pregnant
You know you're pregnant (at least, 3 months in you know re the whole menstruation thing)
You know (or suppose to know) babies take about 9 months to develop and be born

So, for 9 odd months. You've known this. Yet. You dump the baby in a bush?

Like, you didn't even have the decency to maybe think of asking a church nun what your options are in terms of adoption or children homes? Or find a children home and when you gave birth give it to them with the whole "basket on footsteps"?

Whats the first thing that goes through your mind when you're pregnant except for "Oh **** my parents are going to be sooooo pissed at me?"

Is society really so ****ing lame these days that PRETENDING to be upper class and "not that person" ... agh never mind I'm just working myself up.

I'm going to kick this bitch in the panty if I see her. I don't care WHAT her reasons were...

They started with that law in america, where you can go to any hospital and drop off a new born, no questions asked. I think it's only the catholic church runned hospitals that does it though and it's very controversial or whatever. (I think it's better than the alternative)

They even take in grown kids who's parents don't want (or can't) to care of their children.

I have heard of a few places around JHB, one in Sandton in particular - where there is a swing-type hatch door with a basket where you can drop off any unwanted babies. I can't think of the places name right now, but I am sure my wife will know.
It's a hell of a lot better than dumping a baby in the bushes :mad:

For exactly that reason. She didn't want the baby in the first place, so will be neglecting the baby.

She obviously couldn't go through with the whole abortion thing (maybe she feels it is wrong?) and was too scared to ask help from someone else, in case she gets into trouble?

Dunno. It is always difficult to tell what goes through teens heads when they are pregnant. Like leaving it in the bushes to die of hunger is any better...

I know in pta they have recently (last year, I think) started with a project (forgot what it is called). Basically, they've made a home where teen mothers can go to (if they have enough guts) for counselling etc. Also, if they are too scared to go through that, there is a special "drop-off" ledge thingy where the babies can be placed. You can then ring the doorbell and leave. There is no hidden cameras. The ppl in charge then fetch the baby in, care for him/her whilst looking for a new home for the baby.

This whole thing was started after soo many babies was found in dumpsters and bushes in Sunnyside. This home is also based in Sunnyside.
