Guys playing as female characters in MMOs....

I don't consider it strange. I have a mixture of both male and female characters that I play.

Is it strange to play a non-human?

No - I don't consider it strange either. Just trying to find what people think :).
 
Don't think it's strange personally buuut when I tried running a female rogue in WoW as an alt......I got a little....confused that not only did everyone immediately call me "she" until I told them I was weilding a mansaber but also the amount of male characters that...........initiated rather "questionable" acts..........

I suppose it might be reasonable to assume female characters=female players...but I miss the days of the internet where men were men, women were men and young boys were FBI agents. (Blatantly stolen from Bash.org)
 
I guess over 70% of female characters in WoW are played by men.. my guild leader is a man playing a female night elf
 
What about playing a good character versus an evil one. I can never get comfortable with an evil character, Paladins all the way! On ward Christian soldiers and all that.
 
Can't play females, can't play undead/blatantly evil characters. Morally ambiguous characters though (thieves etc) I don't have a problem with.

I'm Female, with Male characters | 3 | 0.19%
I'm Female, with Female characters | 161 | 10.03%
I'm Female, with both Female & Male characters | 71 | 4.42%
 
If im gonna looking at a behind for 99% of the time , it might aswell be something nice to look at.

female players would play females because mostly they see it as an extension of themselves.

Where as males prefer females characters simply because its more "natural" feel to it playing female than male, not to mention either its seem as tad bit gay playing male characters. then there is the notion of cladly dressed female character vs cladly dress male character. personally i most of my characters is female, when i play a male character i sure need to be able to connect with the charater, its class and story to him. of all my age of conan charters i only have 1x male character being my bear shaman the rest all female of course.
