similar thing with ps2, everyone time i see a ps2 sale on for R1499 i laugh hard and pity the poor sucker who falls for it.

For one In future it would be prolly be R999.00
There are MANY "Suckers" that would like to join the gaming party and do not have the funds for a XBox360/PS3 . Thus the PS2 unit is a very good entry level for KID's specially at BD's and Christmas, they may even find they do not like "gaming". Looking at all the many games titles (even new releases) available, Why is that an issue? Many PS2 game's surpass the WIIwee console in price vs quality as well as in the graphics department.
I hate these I am an EX-Spert comments.

R1500 for a ps2 is a rip-off IMO.

I agree with the rip-off comment, however.... Finding a PS2 at a good price is great for entry level gamers. My nephew and I spend hours together on the PS2 I got him for his birthday last year. He turned 6 about a month ago, so his dad and I went 50/50 to get him a Xbox.
I bet he'd pwn "I am Penguin" at a game of Pro Evolution Soccer!

im not talking about the quality of the ps2, i still have one and use it, just the price man. People jump on the high horse way to early.

He will Pwn me at many games! LOL. I am a casual gamer, my kids do the gaming while i do the flaming. I appreciate the Media side of the PS3 rather. HD sound and Video.
