I have a few friends who stay in Montana and they are also battling with their Vodacom 3G and have complained NUMEROUS TIMES. Vodacom has said to them it's congestion and that there are too many users connecting to the VERY FEW towers in the area.
The last I heard from my friends is that Vodacom has built a new tower in Montana, somewhere on Babiana street close to Sinoville. This is supposed to relieve the congestion from the other towers in the area. But the last that Vodacom told them is that the tower has been built, but they are waiting for Telkom to provide the tower with bandwidth links to the Vodacom network.
So yet again, the public is at the mercy of Telkom!!
The other thing my friends mentioned is that Vodacom is also waiting for Telkom to provide more bandwidth links for the Vodacom 3G towers in the area to increase the capacity that the 3G towers can handle. Again......at the mercy of Telkom......
From how I see it.....it seems Telkom is deliberately sabotaging Vodacom and making them look like fools. Very smart Telkom......VERY SMART!!!!
Basically Telkom is forcing people to move over to their 3G network or ADSL, or move to MTN.
