The off topic posts from IBurst Forum Split

I've had iBurst since the days they still tested in the 2.3ghz frequency. I was the first one on the list to receive a new UTD on the Monday when they moved over to 1.8ghz. Literally. I returned my modem 3 days later. However, I still have a number of iBurst modems that my firewalls manage on behalf of customers every day, including a few people you'd be surprised by.

I monitor them closely. I compare them everyday to some of my other managed firewalls that do not suck (guess why).

Just because I don't personally subscribe to WBS's service doesn't mean that I don't know that it sucks most of the time.

were Electricity researched back then?

It was indeed. It was researched and found to be branded a product called "MyWirelectricity". Everyone said that wireless electricity sucks, but the company denied it stating that the "2%" of Wirelectricity consumers that were having problems were actually "power" users and didn't deserve electricity to begin with.

Pretty soon though, the media caught on that wireless electricity was really just a fallacy, and that the top management of the company lied about the 2% of people having problems. Of course the lectricity helldesk had no choice but to continue to lie to the users because the fact was that their service sucked and that it was all their fault.

Thus, the helldesk made up all kinds of excuses that are now archived here:
http://poopband.co.za/modules/wfquotes/index.php?op=cat&c=1

Of course, top management still denied to the press and the world at large that there was a problem at all. But the users could not be suppressed. They screamed and shouted and eventually got put onto the MySchindlers list, also known as the "baddie list".

The people on the "baddie list" then got blamed for sucking up all the wireless electricity, and thus instead of admitting the failure of their network and technology "MyWirelectricity" continued steaming on with marketing campaign after marketing campaign.

The users revolted, eventually, and shackled the chains of their 12 month contracts, cancelling the wireless electricity service in droves, until all that remained was a MyElectricity forum that has a top posting rate of approximately 5 posts per fortnight.

They eventually all signed up with Eskom, which is a known expensive, yet reliable electricity supplier.

Note: some names have been changed to protect the innocent

ok so you don't have iBurst, thats all I wanted to know

And now that you are armed with this superior knowledge, are you still going to attempt to convince me against all odds that it doesn't suck right now?

then everyone that was pissed off with eskom heard about a new wireless electricity company and automatically assumed they were crappy too, of course we all know assumption is for ignorant people but they do say ignorance is bliss, so they all came to the new wirless electricity forum and said it was crap for everyone even though some users on the forum could indeed get twice as much electricity than eskom users, sometimes more.

Except, they could only get twice the electricity half of the time.

ok reasons it doesn't suck (for me) right now

1) I am capped and downloading at 122KB/s
2) I am downloading at 122KB/s
3) I have a feeling they might reset the bandwith counters anyway later tomorrow
4) I was told from someone at WBS that by end of year we might have 3mbit
5) I'm downloading at 122KB/s

Disclaimer:
I am not sayign everyone is gettign results, obviously there are alot on this forum who aren't, but I am, so I'm happy so I can't say it sucks for me

no don't make assumptions, look if you had it and it sucked, thats too bad for you, but i'm telling you I get full speed ALL the time, if I want it... its full, I don't know why but it is, and other users on my tower are the same, so of course other users don't get this but thats tough, they aren't me so I can't comment on thier situation

From most of the reports on this forum, my statistics, and a lot of your previous comments when it did suck for you, I'd either have to say you're a liar, or one of those housewives that got caught up in the magical-atomic-structure modifying-washing-machine-save-on-detergent-ball scams.

Oh wait, you must have gotten the "fix" earlier than the rest of us.

if it did suck it was because i'm capped and it was for short periods of time (which I can live with) look i'm telling you i'm happy with it and so are others we get the service WBS promises, this site was made because people were unhappy with broadband so of course it attracts people with problems looking for answers, however when talking to people on exosee we discovered lots of people get full speed when they want it, if you don't believe me just ask one of them.

and what do you mean "the rest of us" you dont' have iburst
