Hi folks

The ICASA issue will be addressed in a radio show today: 1485 am at 18:35. There will also be an Afrikaans version at 17:30. I have to admit that I have never heard of this station, but they are apparently excellent when it comes to financial matters: backed by Moneyweb.

Regards,

RPM

I know about this station through a show called Moneyweb that used to be broadcast on classic FM. Because I love Jazz so much I often listen to some old man, dont know his name, on sundays just before 8pm

1485 am ?

Any more info on that ? - can it be accessed online (don't have a radio at home - altho I could sit in my car and listen :D )

Hey this is good, pity i wont be home by then;

DSTV--> RCA AUDIO OUT--> PC LINEIN --> RECORD TO WAV --> CONVERT2mp3

Thats what i would do at 1835. Someone else could still do this though ?

Hi guys

I have just been informed that the Afrikaans show is RSG: 17:30 I can not confirm this, but Cara is fairly certain that this is the case. BTW: What on earth do ‘ADSL’ and ‘Cap’ translates to in Afrikaans :D

Regards,

RPM

I could, but I will be recording Star Trek Enterprise on the Action X channel.
Sorry guys, priorities! :eek:

Can someone please let me know if any of these ICASA hearings have or are going to be broadcast on any of the TV news channels? I'm currently in the UK and don't know what’s been put on the news.

If non of the news channels have said anything about the hearings I'd be quite peed off, it's their flippen duty also to info the public on what’s going on.

ADSL-> Asynkrone Digitale Intekenenaars Lyn -> ADIL :)
Cap -> dop? :D or maybe plafon? :(

Cap - > Bandwydte Limiet :D

Listening to RSG now...
Discussing the SA economy now. Will listen @ 17:30 and post again.

OMG !!!

heheh - no wonder it's not a fantastically popular station - just tuned in in my car - Barry Manilow - I write the songs !

Arhghghghghghghghgh :D

damn my system is entirely set up dstv connected to pc everything, but it's raining cats & dogs can't get signal :mad:

RPM oor RSG:

Prima!

Hi again guys

I have just done the RSG interview. I love Afrikaans, but that it is not an easy task discussion Internet matters in this language. I was searching for words all the time, and I guess it was not made easier by the fact that I always discuss ADSL in English. Lets hope the interview in English is more fluent :D

Thanks a bunch to RSG for giving us the opportunity to discuss this issue! The more publicity the better!

Regards,

RPM

ouens, if I insulted you by dissing 1485am a bit, not meaning too - it was just quite a shock ! :D

EDIT: BTW, my room is a shambles - I'm going to try to capture the interview / ICASA coverage - managed to find an old walkman with radio and some batteries and hooked it up to my PC. Reception is pretty bad, but should be ok for voice.

Got damn cables strewn all over the show from my magic boxes of tricks - er, or cables :D

Hopefully I can record it .
