'Bar indicator' Signal Loss in Magaliesburg

Over the last couple of days our signal has gone from 5 bar to 4 bar for no reason. Doesn't matter if I move my desktop modem around or use my partners laptop in the garden, it remains at 4 bar. Any reason for this Vodacom or is it now something else to get used to in additon to the poor speeds we get out here?!!!!

When connected to 3G signal strength does not determine your speed.
if you connect with 2 bars you should still get 3g speeds.

Change post topic its misleading..
 
I don't know if it is misleading or not, the point is where has it gone (for almost 8 months its been full) and we are still on slow speeds here. And yes, I am SERIOUS!

OK then this is a joke how can you complain about going from 5 bars of signal to 4 bars and being serious about this . This is actually stupid :rolleyes: what about the guys that does not have 3G signal they will probably choke u :sick:
 
There are many reasons for this, mainly congestion. When more and more people log on to your 3G tower, then the coverage shrinks.

I am about 350 meters away from my tower, at times I get 5 bars, but when the tower gets busy, it sometimes goes down to 4 and sometimes even 3 bars.

From personal experience, 2 bars is good enough to keep a 3G connection.

Your slow speeds would also have to do with congestion as well. Vodacom would need to upgrade the 3G tower in your area.

Seriously, if you're getting 4 bars now, there is nothing you need to worry about. You only need to worry when it drops down to 1 bar.
