Malema: Yes, Mboweni: No, Government: Silence

Clearly there is something amiss in the ANC if its various senior ranking members, affiliates and village idiots cannot agree on policy. Julius Malema has again called for, nay, demanded the nationalisation of the countries mines citing examples in Botswana to give weight to his statements. The one thing he fails to recognise is that by all accounts Botswana is actually a very well run country and one where the government really understands the value of all its citizens, both white and black, citizens by birth and expats. You don’t seem to hear many idiots spewing forth radical and idiotic ideas. If they do they either don’t have the mouth that Malema has or nobody thinks it is important enough to make international news.

Malemas statements in this regard have sparked widespread condemnation and concern but the official silence by the ANC leadership proper was perhaps more unsettling. Did they want this too?? Was this all smoke and mirrors and the age old tactic of good cop/bad cop? Was this a ruse to get the idea out there and test the reaction of the country and the international community while sneakily pushing the agenda behind closed doors? Just when we thought all was lost out comes Tito Mboweni, the outgoing Reserve Bank governor with a statement saying that the mines will not be nationalised despite “noises” from some politicians(and other idiots?) Finally some sense from a largely sensible and influential person? Maybe not….

One would be forgiven for thinking that Mboweni would have put little Julius in his place with that statement but today Malema has called his bluff at an address at the University of Zululand by saying that ”"We don’t want Tito’s statement that the mines will not be nationalised. Tito is nothing in the ANC. If he continues, he will not get a nice deployment” . Malema also stated that the ANC has been monitoring Tito Mboweni for a long time and it was because of his behavior that his contract as Reserve Bank governor has not been renewed. But perhaps his most frightening statement today was that the ANC Youth League would “ensure” that South African mines were nationalised.

The question of how dangerous Malema really is must now be answered as a matter of great urgency. Does he have the influence to affect the policy of this government in such radical ways now or is he simply stating what he will do when he becomes President? Either of these two scenarios should make the rational man quake in his boots. Or perhaps thats what he wants too?

The nice thing about maldoglema is that he spouts so much bs so often its going to bury him eventually. He is going to say something somewhere that will draw so much negativity it will bury him. Its inevitable. He makes the point known that he is an idiot so vigorously and assured that even the blind and deaf can hear and see it.

God I hope he gives himself enough rope to hang himself..
