Graphics card starts up then fails repetedly and multiple BSOD's

Hi all

my new system was working fine until last night when while it was running AMD's autotune software it randomly restarted . It then gave me a BSOD (IRQ_not_less_or_equal )once iv been in windows for Around 10 secs. And once its BSOD a couple times . Then on reboot while system is starting the graphics card then begins to REV up like it does on start up , it's led flash - then it repeats the process over and over again( as if its a car trying to start ) . NOthing then comes up on screen.

MY system is in sig and i doubt the PSU is at fault(its a 600w OCZ) .Im also using the Windows 7 RC

It normally starts giving hassles when i play games or begin to push the system. The screen gets all distorted for about 2 secs before every BSOD if it helps .

I have run memtest86 - nothing
i used driver sweeper and reinstalled drivers - more BSOD's ( the page file one and many others )

Dont know what to do anymore :mad:

Can you post your event logs before the BSOD? And the exact BSOD error 0x0000000 etc?
 
Did you run memtest86+ with a full pass?

if your PC is overclocked or you have changed voltages, undo that. Also try reset BIOS to defaults.

If you're overclocking your GPU, reset it to default clocks.

But the graphical corruption before it hangs/bsods sounds like GPU failure, esp if the fan is revving up. Try place a desk fan right up to your open chassis.

What are your temps like? use Coretemp and GPU-Z to check that, let it log the temperatures during heavy gaming and report the temps while it is under load, NOT after you've closed the game.

Also will do , Iv allready taken out Cmos battery to reset BIOS .
 
Oddly enough I have had almost the exact same problem. I am playing a game when I get a mini BSOD (flash on and restart). My PC will do that car starting thing (that's also how I described it, oddly enough). This happened twice in a row and then never again so not much help to you I'm afraid. I'm running an 8800GT with a 400W PSU if it helps.

wish i could say the same :o


GPU-z results just before BSOD :

41% load
63 degrees
27% fan speed

The BSOD error code was 0x0000050, i could be mistaken with the amount of zero's went pretty quick

And your CPU temps?

63º is fine for a GPU.

Which version of Windows is this? Try uninstalling your graphics drivers and getting a newer(or previous version if you're up to date) and installing those, but make sure you uninstall the current ones first, reboot, then install, then reboot.
 
Cpu hovers around 45 degrees at load .

I have done a complete driver clean and updated to latest drivers , same problem as old drivers :(


Im gonna run memtest overnight to let it do multiple passes and see what i get ( it only did one pass before )

One pass should be OK, make sure your CPU temps are good first, if your fan is wonky, 24hrs of memtest abuse might be a bad idea ;)
 
Not all stop 0x00000050 errors are caused by the problem but:
This error message is caused by a kernel driver that is installed by the following known rootkit spyware programs:
Msupd5.exe
Reloadmedude.exe

Where did you get your copy of win7 from?
 
Just FYI, I had the same issues recently, but it only happened when I played STALKER: Clear Sky and I could reproduce the error too, BSODs are so irritating to fix tho.

A good friend , it works on another PC - will start a thourogh scan tonight.

Allright , it turns out everything work fine with one stick of ram in , but when there is two - the problems start . It doesnt matter which stick i use either .

I dont get how this is affecting my gpu - but it is !??

It must be a motherboard issue i assume ?
 
Are you sure the timings are set to stock?

There are two workarounds you can try, but be careful:

You can overvolt your RAM slightly, I've had this issue before and in some cases fixed it by upping the ram voltage in the BIOS.

Or, clock your ram slower, in some cases I had a board that wouldn't work with DDR2-800 dimms in certain configurations (even at stock speeds) so I clocked it down to 667 and vola, the performance loss is very minimal.
 
Ok , im going to try some other ram in the pc and my ram in another pc . Just to fully determine the problem.

I will then experiement with the voltages etc

Ok well I took the ram from channel A1 and A2 and put it into B1 and B2 ..... and voila it works perfectly :) am still gonna try different RAM on it because the is obviously an error that needs fixing . Still find it VERY wierd my RAM was affecting my graphics card :confused: :confused:

Never Mind , i was too optimistic :(
