3x gtx295/TRI SLI MOBO...

Are you serious? You're going from an e5200 with 2gb ram to 3x295 with a 19" monitor?

Ok...in my opinion it's not worth it. It's total overkill. One 295 is plenty. You need a balanced system. Even the most powerful cpu is going to be limited by that kind of gfx setup.

The 3rd 295 is prob gonna give you 10% scaling to 1x 295. Complete waste of money. Did you think about your powersupply? 1KW at least.

Just give the $$ to me and ill waste it on good stuff like woman, beer and boom!:D

what a waste...

20 grand just to play games? not worth it man.

get a 5870 and use the rest of the cash for a huge ass samsung lcd screen.

...Is it worth it at the moment and your opinion would you buy it?

If you have the money why not! What you want to do with it? Why to people buy a porsche? Becuase it's woth it? No! tell me more?

To warrant setting up a tri SLI system You will of course have to buy:
3*295 GPU cards
3*26"+ LCD screens
Triway Wall/desk mounting bracket
Best Intel processor on market
Raptor raid drives *5
1*fast SSD (use as ram-disk)
8+ GB memory
etc

Then use it for:
extensive Gaming (Crysis at absolute max?)
Draughting
Games development
Supercomputing

You can always buy the Motherboard then buy the rest when it's cheap but by then you look at newer cheaper more advanced hardware that superseded the above anyway.
etc

But do not let us break your speed. If you want to you may do as you please, all it takes is lots of money and to have that all have to do/organise is to work for the government as a money scammer or thus in simple word become a MP.

Buying a Porsche and buying a spending 20k on vga cards is very different, as pointed out that 3rd card will add very little so it is a complete waste.

killa, not only that it adds little performance (10% or whatever on card nr. 3) but even if the performance WAS 300% as much, who the heck wants to pay that much for 180fps gaming instead of 60fps? there's no difference?

buy 1 card and then a 42" LCD.

it might not be 180 fps on a 19" screen as you have now, but it will look much better on a 42" and your eyes won't be able to tell the difference above 40fps anyway.

Rather buy a single 5870/5850, it will suite your current setup well
And no i would not even think of buying 3x 295's, Power and heat comes to mind

but the plan was to go 3gpu's,best cpu,ram DDR3 1600MHZ-2000,HZ(12-16GIG),and decent mobo + decent psu and 3 x 26''
lcd screens.I was thinking axe mobo 2 cpu's and the rest of the setup

You are more than welcome to do it but a few of think you are wasting money.

Go for 2 x 295 but 3 is a waste.

There is no reason ever to tri-sli 295's because there is not a cpu in the world that wouldn't limit it. Either 2x295 or 2x5870 will be more than sufficient for any possible eventuality. Go 5870 for eyefinity goodness with those 3x26" :D

ah well maybe I should leave my current system as it is.after all, in couple of years time that tech will be old and there will be the same components out for cheaper.I just hope I still live at that time:D

Hardware fail.

Just wait till the 5870x2 get released next month and buy 2 of them. GTX 295 is old stuff. With ATI's new releases you get much more for ure $$$.
