We have a LG LE50 Express with only +- 230mb Ram , and according to satech
MODULES MUST BE ORDERED AND INSTALLED IN PAIRS for Dual Channel mode.

256Mb Part Number: NB256M0161

512Mb Part Number: NB512M0161

1Gb Part Number: NB1GB0161

I'm planning on Upgrading it to 2 x 512mb RAM. But where can I buy the modules?

A quick google reveals them to be normal DDR2 SODIMM. You can get them anywhere. There's nothing special about the memory.

Not sure if you need to get PC2-4200/533MHz for it to be able to run in dual channel though.

Any suggestions for a walk-in shop?
I usually buy all my stuff online, so I have no idea where to get parts from a physical shop.

Why?

Edit: Will these work? http://www.take2.co.za/electronics-kingston-ddr2-533mhz-notebook-memory-512mb-3811835.html

On another note, Bethesda has Samsung 1024MB DDR2 800 Notebook Memory Modules for R144.10.
What will happen if I put 800mhz in a 533 laptop?
If memory serves me right, the RAM will just downscale to 533mhz. Can anyone confirm this?

Yip. Just did that last week on another LG notebook.

Cool stuff. I'll order 2GB from Bethesda then. Apparently the notebook can handle up to 2Gb, and it's being used for Graphic Design, so it will make a huge difference
