Some body has been posting an ad on mxit Exchange (Its like mxit's version of gumtree) For

This ad changes abit each time its posted but the price is always once off R350 and only in durban.

sounds dodgy.... what do you think?
 
In the UK and the rest of the world yes. Not here.. I want whatever that dude is smoking..
 
hmm found an older ad, says he installes custom software thta uses your cellphone as a modem

There was a shody company offering this using sentech a while back. They were probably hijacking for sentech :P Dunno about this company tho, i rate they just want ur monies.

100% PURE SCAM!

It allows you to connect to the internet using your cellphone as a modem with a Virgin sim and by using the opera browser 'exploit'.
Then you are able to connect to the internet with a zero balance by setting up a dial up connection and allowing the the modem to connect and load around 20kb's, then reconnecting constantly until the page finally loads.
Its so slow it makes dial-up look like 20mbps ASDL!

How do i know you may ask?
I had a foolish teen cousin fall for this little scam and he got what he deserved.

I hope they catch that bugger exploiting kids.:mad:

Sounds like iSpot... it's wireless and the latency is a bit sucky, but it is cheap. We've spoken to the guys and it is all legitimate and above board. So not a scam, just a WISP (if it is iSpot).
