Hi guys,

I sold all my Pre-TBC gear sets and collected some nice DPS (Feral gear). Was asked to heal Ramparts so I went to SW, respec'd and bought healing gear. Then I ran out of cash :o

Anyway, I then respec'd to Boomkin just to be able to use the same gear as I had to sell my Feral gear to cover the costs of my respec's.

Anyway, long story short.....

Which is better for leveling 60+ I don't like the Boomkin idea, but if it's best I'll just have to get used to it. Or do I go resto and just heal my way to level 80?

I just don't know any more... /cry

erm Feral

That is another 50g respec and gear /cry

Guess I'll have to stay feral then till 80. This respec thing is costing me a fortune. And this is my only toon on a new realm, no one to bank roll him :D

should I slap you now or later ? Roll a Dk and play him to make money for your druid sorta like a cash cow :p and when you spec take the all agi = +healin talent in the feral tree

No, you can safely switch over to Boomkin spec when you hit level 45/50. It's currently better DPS than Feral apparently.

As for using the same gear for both healing and Boomkin, don't make a mistake, even though both sets of gear appears the same, there is suttle differences between the two. Boomkin has more stamina/haste and spell penetration while Healing spec has more mana regen/spell power and intellect AFAIK

You won't go wrong with having your healing gear as your boomkin gear but you won't be the best caster

I would also suggest to go feral. Its quick and you hardly ever need to eat or drink. If you made a bad pull, just go bear + spam swipe and you wil hardly ever die (thats if you have the improved leader of the pact).

but feral is more fun. But have seen turkeys AoE Grind while leveling. What ever you choose just make sure you enjoy it :p

Feral all the way

can you say "no down time?"

Yep kitty pounch mangle shred and before you know it the mob is down. If you make a crap pull go bare pop frenzy regen if u get low and use barkskin etc.

Done pop a heal or 2 drop innervate on yourself and off u go

Easy really

boomkin is ridiculous. eclipse procs followed by that uber sky lazer pewpew thing makes with the hurting, and with roots and treants and typhoon and cyclone, mobs simply dont get close. plus if u dual spec resto, you can heal instances so you'll never have to sit and wait for group invites. Downtime? Er.. Innervate? Self hots? Hell, you still have access to bear for emergencies and cat for sneaking around.

if i decide to go troll druid instead of toren palleh for cataclysm, i'll definitely be going the fat owl route. Feral gets boring.

As feral i solo'ed a few dungeon quests where you must get in, loot a few items from the ground and get out. (thanks to the talent that alows greater stealth, not sure if you can do it if you dont have the talent)

Feral and Boomkin are roughly equivalent in terms of leveling ability.

I find feral spec advantage is improved ability to aoe down normal mobs, its absolutely amazing how quickly you can kill multiple mobs or elites in bear form. Just stack agility and take nurturing instincts and improved lotp and no down time at all. Feral also is great on pvp servers because you spend so much time in cat form with tracking/stealth.

Boomkin kills single targets a little faster then feral. Typical mobs will die before they even get to you. You still are very mobile with instant travel and later flight form and downtime is minimal if you stack int/spirit initially. Boomkins can also destroy melee elites with their roots/kite.

In the end go for whatever spec is your preferred style of play, neither spec will be significantly quicker to level.

From what i have read Boomkin or Feral will work after 60, i dont know personally as my druid is only 31... :) However the TBC gear will make Boomkin pretty viable i would imagine. I think leveling up you really can have the same gear as boom and resto if you duel spec as well. That wont be the case at 80 though ofc.

I will be staying as feral though, im loving the stealth option.. not having to kill every mob is too awesome!

Yea, the Rogue gear in Outlands from quest rewards is amazing. I'll just respec back to Feral and only heal again at 80. No way I'm wasting money on back and forth spec'ng the whole time :o

just start taking the healer/caster gear as quest rewards when round level 77 or so will save you the trouble running round at 80 lookin for healin gear

feral = consistent leveling with no downtime.
boomkin = faster leveling with more downtime.

They're roughly the same so do it however you want.

feral will enable u to go non stop.. esp in northrend.. also enable you to solo elite group quests..

also enable you to find groups for dungeons quicker.. as tank...

:)

not to mention pwn much with cat incase ally/horde gets clever

The above poster has never leveled a druid.

feral leveling as a cat dps spec won't allow you to tank much unless you have a properly spec'd healer. You skip stuff like protector of the pack and thick hide which are essential to not get smashed to pieces as a tank.

In regard to PvP cats die, very, very fast. You generally have to either open on a person and start hurting them seriously fast then cyclone, wait for them to get out and try finish or jump into bear and have the longest most boring fight in history.
