FULL HD Bargain of the weekend

Hi-Fi corporation has a special on a LG Scarlet 37"/93cm for R10000 with a three year guarantee. this is a brilliant price as i am shopping for a new TV and the best price i could find so far is R11780. It has a response time of 2.7 ms which is the fastest response time for a TV i have come across yet.
I took the time to email LG to find out if their products sold by Hi-Fi Corp carries their factory guarantees and received a reply back from them confirming that the products are covered by their warranty.
 
i'd rather take 2 x Samsung LA32B350 32 inch LCD TV's for R4999 each

might be 5 inches smaller, but I get two of em!
I could mount one above the bath just for the heck of it!

plus, sammy > lg crap
 
i have an LG and it's far from crap but thats just my opinion, as for the special at high fi corp i'll pass, i bought all my products from them with my first job and 99% of them i had to take back because of faults. there aftersales service is hell. i actually saw customers getting sworn at from hi fi corp staff (park meadows). i will never buy from them rather pay the little extra and go to game or makro.

When did you have problems with them, was it recently? I heard that their services have improved since they were taken over by the JD Group.
I do agree with you about LG products i have two 74" flat screen teles and they are both older than nine years old and have had no problems. Then again my wife works from home and i had a Samsung aircon installed and after three compressors in sixteen months had it replaced with a LG and after 5 Years still working fine. So everyone has bad experiences with different manufacturers.
 
didn't know they were under new management. after the last issue with them i haven't been back! it was a couple of years back. i buy my electroncs now from game,dion wired or makro there customer service is alot better. i still don't want to risk it with Hi Fi just yet.
 
get a sony 40" s550 for about the same price
i know makro has the v550 for 10,5k on special right now
much better deal i think
 
ya but those smasungs won't be full hd :/ and whats the point :)

and don't think someone with a sinotech has much leeway to call any of the bigger brands crap ;)
 
i think ull notice the extra 3" before u notice the response time
 
doubt your eyes will notice any diff from 5ms to 2.7ms :/ even from 8 to 2.7 will be an ask.. maybe at 12 plus you might.. just might start noticing it :)

Why are there so many doubters on MyBB? I am sure you will see the difference as there should be less of the already low blurring effect?

But i read on a other post some ware that for watching dvd's and sport it is better to get something with faster response time?

Rather go and look at the performance, there are only few units better than the scarlet 100hz range.
 
You won't really notice the difference between 8ms, 5ms and 2ms....

And at R10k I'd rather get a Sony or a Samsung or even a Sinotech tbh
