What specials is Vodaworld running at the moment on the contract side. They say there is 1Gig option plus free card for R499. Then there is also a 500 Meg option where you pay R499 for the card. Can you please confirm

While you wait for that confirmation :P I can tell you that there is 1GB and 500MB contracts. Not sure about the R499 version of the 1GB, [last i checked it was R599] and the 500MB is R350 p/m and there is instances where you get the card for free too [probably have to search for that , i'd consider it a 'special'].
Either way it's rather strange that you can get a datacard for free on a R135 p/m weekender contract and not on a R350 p/m contract. Yes you get 500MB etc, but i'm sure vodacom would prefer someone on a mandatory R350 vs. R135 + [optional bundle] contract.

I saw an advert in Vodaworld newspaper insert for 500MB contract with free datacard.

I also saw that promo somewhere, does vodaomshops have it, with that can you put that sim in your phone and then use the 120 free minutes (do you get any?
can i ask V3G or someone to update/confirm these specials etc. We seem to be missing out on some good deals. Anyone?

The retail shops run the specials on their own, so we often only see it in the press, just like everyone else. Vodacom will suggest retail pricing but then the shops can compete by creating specials.
The 500Mb contract with free data card is definitely on offer from a few shops.
Best bet is to always watch the press and to phone around. Always try and negotiate a better deal.

Does any1 know whether you can buy 1 of that bundles (3g 250MB) on a Topup contract. In the first few months topup contracts where much like prepaid (coudn't get GPRS even)
I think I may want to go with topup + 3G card +R409 in a previous tread.

Not sure if it's really a promo, but i got myself onto that weekender contract with the free datacard [2+ months ago]. I believe you can get it now at any shop. And yes you get the free minutes too. Also you can activate twincall and get 2 sims [one for card, one for phone] if you don't want to do the whole swopping around thing.
Although i migrated to the 3G 500MB contract [no additional migration costs] because it works out cheaper if you actually use more than 250MB on the weekender contract.
