Can anyone think of a way to recharge a prepaid SIM by sending an SMS with the voucher code from the datacard?

Is there a way without using a phone and without having to take the SIM card out of the data card and putting it into a phone and back each time?

The software should have such an option, just a button to do a balance check, and an option to submit a voucher!

Should not be hard to build in?

Until then, can anyone think of a way to reacharge alone with the data card?

Maybe even by making a connection that dials the *100*01*voucher*# instead of *99***1# to connect ?

Well if you're using it for internet, find a site that can recharge via web? ABSA for example lets you recharge any cell number you supply. I remember ipay.co.za also had a similar service, but not anymore [but i'm sure there's plenty of similar sites around].

ive heard that you can load airtime on the e220 modems by typing in the recharge voucher into an sms.... true?I have never bought any Vodacom pre-paid vouchers - I use internet banking to topup, so I could be wrong bcos AFAIK it's more likely to be a USSD command sequence used for loading a pre-paid voucher than an actual SMS, and the Huawei dashboard s/w for the E220 I have, does not support USSD commands.
