Hi folks
anyone know how to set-up MMS on a blackberry Bold 9000...or any blackberry for that matter?
Tried the *111# method, but Vodacom does not have a profile for a blackberry bold 9000.
Thought I could manually change settings, but only place I can find anything that looks likely is in the service books section, where no edits can be made...

Thanks in advance for any help...

Check in Options -> Advanced Options -> Service Books if you have an entry called MMS Wap Transport.

If you do then test it by sending an MMS to yourself.

I got the same problem, what should I do?
Voda tell me that it might be the SIM card or the phone and that I should maybe go to a vodacare

Once you get a Blackberry you must register the device on http://mobileemail.vodafonesa.co.za/ or http://mtn.blackberry.com/

This process then sends the relevant service books for any email accounts that you link as well as internet browser settings as well as the all important MMS settings.

You don't have to do this registration on the Carrier BIS sites IF your device is attached to a BES server (Blackberry Enterprise Server) as this will automatically send the relevant service books to the device.

Not doing this will result in a device that displays EDGE/GPRS/3G but won't do anything network related and will be a waste of your time and money.

Did you PM your cell number and other detail to VodacomData to have a look at already , it could perhaps be a provision issue on the Vodacom GSM side of things?

Sorry for the necro. Having damned blackberry issues again...

Got another new blackberry that is not receiving data

I cannot see why you have to register on BIS just to get data for balckberry?? I DON"T WANT to use BIS. Our server can deliver to the email client (astrasync) via WAP, so why do I have to register for BIS? Get charged for nothing??

The think I don't get is that internet using the browser works, but not any app that uses internet, and not MMS either. I'm sure it's a setting I have to manually set, like an APN or something like that.

Ok managed to get MMS working by entering APN manually under TCP/IP setting without registering for BIS. However, not winning with WAP as yet. Not sure where to enter that...why does it need a different carrier for different items? Surely one internet connection would work?
