They are currently flighting a radio ad which promotes it's ' ten day ' repair turnaround - with a loan unit provided.

Have things got so bad that a ten day turnaround on repairs is something to be proud of ?

Most of my clients will hardly settle on 10 minutes!

10 days LOL, they are actually putting that on radio?

They should fire the marketing guys ASAP, that is going to lose them customers bwhahahaha

I walked into PC International on a Saturday morning not too long ago and they repaired my machine inside of 20 minutes.

10 days ... ROTFL :D

So who are they going to con with that line? :erm:

And is it 10 working days or 10 calendar days? My money is on working days.

Keep in mind that it isn't for like a software problem or something minor only. This is across the board, all products, all issues all problems. If your printer had WW3 inside of it and is still under warranty, it gets replaced.

I believe that market related turn around time is around 21 days as well :P

Just a thought. Use it, don't use it.

10 days, 21 days, swap out or repair - it's too long.

If I buy something brand new and it fails I want it replaced immediately.

If it needs a simple repair then I'm going to have a cup of coffee and come back to collect it - anything longer and just replace it please.

Oh - it needs to come from Joburg ? Fine - SA Cargo will get it here in under 3 hours so I'll be back tomorrow.

This might be supplier related. I've taken things back to Frontosa for a check and they will state 1 week to check it before they will swap it out if found to be faulty.

With some of IC's markups they should be able to afford an immediate swap out of anything they sell.

Pet gripe with IC is having to deal with the kids they hire who haven't got a clue but believe that because they've managed to get a job at IC that they are gods of all things computer based. :P IC is best used to go look at products. Even as a dealer it's the best way to go see what an actual product looks and feels like before giving the recommendation to a client. Also good to see how much markup would be acceptable. ;)
