Teabaggers attack Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel

Holocaust survivor and Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel criticized a Teabagger protester in Washington, DC this week who held up a sign showing dead bodies from the Dachau concentration camp stacked in a pile, and compared this to the Democrats' health care reform plan. Here are a few of the Teabaggers' responses to Weisel, posted on Politico:

Rothschilds nothing! Everyone knows that Obama is George Soros sock puppet. Wasn't Soros Jewish once upon a time? May the Schwartz be with you.

The jews need to clam up and accept the fact that they are in a Chritian country.

This hollowcost thing is totally overblown by the jewish.

Eli Wiesel should just go back to Indonesia. I don't see him condemnig the terrorist shooter at Fort Hood.

Well I can tell you from an anti Republican point of view that this sickens me.

It also highlights just how sick the Republican supporters have become!

Spelling and Americans have never quite gone hand in hand....

That being said, I have no respect for imbeciles who can sit back and mock a holocaust survivor...but we are talking about Republicans here, and since Obama knocked them off their pedestal they have certainly wasted no time in proving what a bunch of thugs and imbeciles they actually are!

Let me disabuse you of the notion that the Tea Parties are homogenous in thought (although demographically they are somewhat cohesive).

As with any movement with a high amount of political inertia it has attracted hangers-on with radical views--a few Jew-haters, Neo-Nazis, conspiracy theorists, McVeigh types.

Obviously there is no definitive study on the ideological makeup of the movement. Just internet lore, news reports on the sensational, and stupid remarks on message boards. :D
My favorite moment in this saga has been when a Lib/Progressive showed up on a Libertarian-leaning board I frequent and accused those who attended Tea Parties of being organized and funded by various orgs. Whereupon several members spoke up and indicated that they had in fact learned of and transported themselves to events without ever being contacted by such orgs.

I have my finger on the pulse of the movement and the sense I have gotten is that although there is a lot of anger, there is very little hatred (except for certain known enemies of Liberty), and almost NO racism. (Racism at this juncture in American politics would be extremely counterproductive in any case).

I truly believe that those on the ground in the movement are NOT impressed with the GOP. They voted for Ron Paul, Fred Thompson, or maybe Mike Huckabee in the primaries and only voted for McCain because they felt trapped. They probably won't voted for Romney in the primaries in 2012. They might vote for Sarah Palin, even though she is not an ideological heavyweight, because she knows where they come from and she is 100% American Girl.

If I had to guess, Ron Paul is the favorite among the Tea Parties at the moment.

I cannot believe that these so called conservative Republicans (God help us) are3 still drooling over Ron Paul and Sarah Palin....they lost the election for Pete's sake, and Ron Paul didn't even make it to the elections....and still they go on like dripping taps!!

They remind me of certain SAn's who are still going on about "Scumbag de Klerk" selling us out to the evil blacks!! Get on with your lives already!!!

In American politics, just because you didn't make it to the election doesn't mean you're not a force. Look at Mitt Romney, right now he probably has the strongest chances of any Republican candidate. He certainly has the best organization and support base.

I detest Romney for a number of reasons, chief of which is his enacting of the "Assault Weapons" ban in Massachusetts, a horrendous infringement of 2nd Amendment rights.

One thing I noticed that may have escaped spectators on your side of the Pond--Romney, McCain, and Obama were all second-guessed at every stage of the game. Every syllable they breathed was analyzed in light of past speeches, voting records, etc. There was a tremendous lack of consistency among these three candidates.

On the other hand, there WAS no such microscope on Ron Paul because it wasn't needed. Everything he said during his campaign was in the same vein as his voting record and documents. Furthermore, he was the only candidate who predicted the economic collapse of the US FAR in advance.

Ron Paul has some kooky ideas to be sure as well a few pipe dreams--but they are no more kooky than some of the tripe our Neo-Marxist President, BHO, has been spouting since he was a young and tender law student at Harvard. At least Paul is an honest kook.

However, American voters have a low tolerance for kookiness and the press is less that helpful to say the least.

Firstly I find it laughable that you guys are so worried about the "Rooi Gevaar" that Obama now becomes a Neo-Marxist.

Please don't try and explain why you call him that because it is simply a waste of bandwidth ploughing through all of the anti Obama stuff that spews out of America.

Ron Paul appeals to a specific ultra conservative Right Wing Religious type which obviously suits you...sorry, it just doesn't make sense to me, and never will either.

The same way I feel about liberal twits protesters use the holocaust and nazi posters for their purposes. Funny there was no outrage when the left did it from Fudzy and co :erm:

But you gotta laugh at the gullible lemmings. They've been caught lying time and again. Remember the racist gun tottering nut at one of these rallies turned out to be a black guy :o. The liberal MSM carefully focusing on his shirt and keeping his skin out of view. Or the protester who held up a poster of Obama as Hitler turning out again to be black person who was a Democrat.
