Hi Guys

I just want to see if anyone else it experiencing this.I connect to wow every night of the week and since the last big patch this is what is happening the pings are awesome at 600-700 sometimes dipping sub 600 anyway as I play the world suddenly freeze and I drop from the server I have to wait for my character to reappear then I can join in again a terrible thing in an instance, this has been happening more i.e every 20-30 minutes usually except yesterday it was every freeking 5 minutes I just want to know if this is UUnet or WoW ? Anyone else having the same issues?

Thanks

On the LOCAL WoW server my pings have been best during the day (+/- 200).
At night it could jump to 600ms. I have had problems where I get disconnected but not every 30mins. After the patch pings decreased alot.....but it might also have been iBurst that fixed something. :D

I experience the same, I have a great ping though, 350-450ms pings sometimes up to 550ms, then after a few minutes I see things doesnt happen anymore, IE. npcs stand still while they should be moving, if i cast a spell the animation starts and never stop with no progress bar...

I then have to click alt-f4 as the games exit button does nothing, then I also have to wait for my char to drop from the server before I can enter again. So I just use telscum connection to play...

Ok just tried again with 1.4.2 and no luck. After about 20 mins the game just stop responding. The uunet pppoe connection is still going strong but the game stops to respond. So alt-f4 and go in again. Kinda iritating. IS and SAIX doesnt do this. IS just have a constant 800ms ping. SAIX is pretty ok, 680ms ping constant sometimes go up to 2000ms for a lil while. But I wish i could play with the uunet 450ms ping for hours instead of minutes.

This has only happened resontly since the big patch a few weeks ago .. I wonder if UUnet didn't change something to affect our WoW pings and connection? mm... I was hoping a representative or employee could shed some light.

oh I have one more thing to add... playing on the saix account on WoW and man it's so much slower than UUnet... if UUnet fix this I'll stay with them for another month :) I love the pings :) and speed :)

Happens to me occasionally on my SAIX account, especially in highly populated areas, but only when I log in. I will login perform an action and the connection will drop. Happens 2 -3 times and then everything is fine.

I do get dropped occasionally also when I run into a large raid. And also experience intermittent spikes in game latency. When are they eventually going to release WoW locally? It would be so cool to play with 70 -90ms response times.

I get long piriod where my game would freeze but never frop on my Saix account only my UUnet account does this, also the strangest thing when I play with a party member on my screen they stand still but according to my buddy I'm moving around... Don't know why only the UUnet account but I hope it gets fixed soon

Just a quick question, Has this been resolved for everyone or are you guys still suffering with the disconnections? Would just like some feedback to see if things are still going wrong:)

I was seeing the same as you described earlier on isdn over the weekend, but hold thumbs have had good pings and no spikes / lock up this week.

I say it again, Im not experiencing this at all (have only 1nc) since I moved to Warsong... I still say its a WOW error and not ADSL or ISDN or whatever.. All lines notice it, its pure fluke if you ask me that only uunet users actually report back it seems.

It happens on every connection.. On some servers more often.

My UUNET connection dropped about 10 times today. Everytime I needed to reset my router... Since shaping started nothing is better. Timeouts, high latency and bad pings continues. During the day internet is almost not accessible. You really should see how perfomance is dropping after 8.00 AM. I am getting slowly but surely very disappointed with UUNET.
I am sorry to say, but such a highly developped country like SA has such a poor internet service, its incredible.

@ Warichard

are you shaping now port 80, 110, 21, etc. as well in order to save more money? Milking customers is nice. You have learned a lot in a very short time from Telkom.

Okay I have tried some setting that I read up on the wow page. 1st Change your network card to Full Duplex 100 forced, then go to your powermanagement setting and turn this off. Last night I did drop again HOWEVER it was significantly less and my pings stayed a little more stable when pinging places like google.com :) I hope this helps. I agree with clipse, after last night it seems to be a WoW problem :)

Look. My network automatically puts itself onto 100mb full-duplex.

Now I also experienced the uunet adsl drops my WoW connection. But listen to this. Then the same day I connect with saol unshaped, no more drops...
Same with ISadsl, just a shame none of the above give as good pings as uunet adsl. Honestly, I dont feel 1 bit bad that I left uunet in the dust.

I still experience drops occasionally on SAOL unshapped. Usually as soon as I log in which is generally in IF and check my mail box I get dropped. Like I say about 1/5 times. Also if I am in BB and there's a huge raid going on and I access an NPC I will get dropped. Also I have noticed the pings on SAOL have degraded a bit in the last week or so.

Ok i dunno if this is the same problem, but sounds close.

I am getting cut randomly from WoW, My pings are fine they flux from 300-600 the odd 800ms if Raiding.

As of Last staturday both me my m8 (He is on SAIX i am on Tiscali) Cut , and lost all international Bandwidth everything locally worked fine however! It was around 2am, so we both decided to pack up, head to bed, and try next morning.

Ever since that international cut we have been disconnecting from WoW.

If i login WoW i will be fine for 10 or 20 mins (sometimes only 30 seconds!) Then i just stop recieving from the server till my character times out. Unlike normal disconnects where it is quick it can take ages till i time out, until i force it closed (Ala Cntrl Alt - Delete)

If i dont close it , it will stay in the world but completely unplayable, Huge Delays, Up to 5 minutes.

Now as a test i decided to Alt-Tab while i stopped recieving from WoW as i was timing out, do a small download, load other websites, and it ran very slowly. ( i am on 128 ISDN) And i pulled down a 600kb file in only 5kbs. Again a test locally i ran at full 13/14 kbs.
My usual DownLoad speed before this all happend for International is 13/14kb/s

I personally DO NOT think its WoW fault here.

Anything internationally is giving huge spikes for me and some other friends around SA. Some others though are not having problems.

This started Last weekend as i said above for us.

Some other notes i found are :

-After 9/10pm it seems to clear itself up.
-Happens both on Europe and USA WoW Servers.
-When you spike, you have slow international bandwidth.

Hope this is understandable , and if any of you guys have same problem:(

Cheers
Rob

I experience spikes constantly in WoW but they generally occur every 30 minutes but go back to respectable pings with 2 minutes or so. I don't think it's a Blizzard issue... who knows what the problem is :(

I don't think the problem is only UUNET. Last week, using the normal Telkom Shaped ADSL, I experienced a drop, I rejoined to find my ping around 3000. I switched ADSL accounts, reset modem etc with no joy and ended up spending quality time with my girlfriend. Since after this event, every now and again WoW is still disconnecting after a couple of hours.

Another thing to note: Last Friday (20th May), I was fortunate to play during the day and I had a lower ping than during afterhours! At night my ping was hanging around 800-900, but during "peak" hours I was getting yellow bars on shaped ADSL.
