Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ: 120Hz LCD Monitor available?

Don't think so. Looks aim at 3D stereoscopic gaming. Also required DVI dual link to get the 120Hz I think.
Do you have a specific purpose for the 120Hz in mind?

Not just for 3d:;)D actual test results via flatpanelshd or xbitlabs reveal a smoother desktopexperience for day-to-day tasks, and I prefer a higher refresh rate for working so my eyes don't bug out - the fact that its amazing for gaming, even in 2d is enough for me to justify the 5k price it probably will be if it gets here :) and I should have a 5850 running soon so dual DVI is not an issue :D
 
There's no flicker on an LCD @ 60Hz. That's just the image feed rate from the machine.
Should make for smoother movement though, for sure. But flicker doesn't happen on an LCD with DVI connection so you shouldn't be having eye strain.
Will find out for you about the availability of this for you. Sometimes the suppliers here just will not bring in the good stuff. :P :) And ja, most likely going to robbed of R5K for the thing if they do bring it in. The one I'm after is R6K as well and it only offers the max 60Hz as defined by the single DVI connection standard.
Will get back to a little later this morning.

Hehe thanks guys, how about I get 3 monitors, the glasses and grab an eyefinity card for maximum exposure:D I'm sure my fiance won't mind staying in Jozi for next 3 xmas's:eek:
 
The only crap part about the 2233RZ is it's not 1920x1080

Funny curvature on the rendered lines. Weird. In the one picture it looks like 2 1440x900 LED LCDs tagged together. Is it using a curve film or optics to achieve this?

This has been done before using alternature LCD technology from Texas Instruments which gave an actual curved surface. Unfortunately, contrast and clarity suffered.

$6499! Nice. :D Reminds me of a Viewsonic 30" which used to sell for 4,000GBP. Imagine the price of this in a few years if it becomes popular.
 
Any news on the availability of the Samsung 2233RZ, or the Viewsonic VX2268wm ?

The latter seems to be freely available in the UK with good pricing, maybe I should try to get one from there.
