2.4 Wireless & iPhone

Hey There Guys Me Again

Well i was sitting having breakfast this morning, like 99% of us do, and was thinking is this possible to be done, if so it will be pretty awesome

I would like to setup a 2.4ghz Network around my House, Iv got a routerboard (Linked to WUG) and was wondering if i put up a 2.4 access point in my room linked directly to my Routerboard which is linked directly to my PC downstairs, would i be able to connect my iphone to that 2.4 device and stream to my iPhone from my PC ? like actually browser my files and watch a movie on the fly ?

i read somewhere that i can actually VNC into my pc but AFAIK that was from a internet connection ? i was juts wonderingif this can be done that will be really sweet.

Yes, this is possible. There's even a VLC port available for the iPhone.

Why would you want to watch a movie on your phone in your own house though?

My favourite app right now is Air Video. http://www.inmethod.com/

It will even convert non iphone compatible avi's on the fly on the PC and stream that.

Thanks Bwanan :P And Psichron when im chilling LIB or something it will be awesome to just whip up a movie on the phone and watch, and music, iv constantly got downloads on the go and i watch movies at night so sometimes i would just like to log in and watch or listen to my hearts desire :) heheh thanks man, gonna get a Wireless AP Device to do this so yeh gonna be awesome
