see thread http://www.mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=20649 for context

I volunteer to collate the presentations to ICASA into a concise presentation for Government and add any other pertinent items to it.

I also volunteer to Rottweiller away at getting a hearing but will need help from other strong minded folk as one voice wont be enough!

I also volunteer to be a co-ordinator for the LOBBY/MASS ACTION drive.

Come on people - all hands to the pump! :D

For my sins, I also run a business services centre. If the Lobby Group needs assistance in Printing/Binding of a Presentation Document(s), I can assist - to a certain degree.

We can punt it on Hellkom, and if there is any info you need i have MANY reports (although not the Tarifica one I'm afraid.. I have lots of other thin air here though).

I volunteer my website and graphic design skills (lol) and whatever else we can think of as this progresses

I think we should start with a mailshot to parties that could have a stake in this , as well as industry players (IPS etc) , and try to gauge the level of interest in this venture, and their willingness to proactively use their resources to this end - some kind of industry wide call to action??

I've got scathing wit and a decent level of technical knowledge to offer.

Come on, can't you see the press releases already?

"Telkom's lowering of the ADSL prices by 10% now makes it completely affordable for the poor to connect to the internet, if they aren't doing it it's because they're lazy"

I would love to be part of changes to Telkom pricing and/or total world domination. Unfortunately I do not have much services to offer. I swear at Telkom a lot, and many people around me hear it on a daily basis. That must count for something!

I can swear at Telkom in a number of languages and I am willing to do so in writing or in person, with or without tact, dependent on our needs.

Hi
I have been involved in two action groups that successfully managed to change the laws related.
It is simply called, PUBLIC NUISANCE
The more people causing simple public disturbances all around the country get noticed by the press, and then.......

First Idea that always worked well, stage a constitutional protest, at the constutitional court and or ICASA building.
Remember though, no more than 15 peopl, otherwise you legally regarded as a gathering and gatherings have to be given permission to protest.

Second Idea.
Using simple things like PAINT, preferrably enamel, and redecorating whatever, in the name of free telecoms, need a nationally recognizable colour.
no cliam of responsibility would be required.

Third Idea
Inform the press of ampending 'Hunger Strike'. By constitutional law, a person who declares a hunger strike, must be heard after 7 days by the president.

Find some volunteers for the above.
The media will do the rest.
