I have a Huawei E180 USB stick modem that I want to use on MTN. The problem is that on the MTN device downloads site the E180 is not listed ( See http://www.mtn.co.za/Support/DeviceDownloads/Pages/default.aspx )

Any reccommendation on what version of the software available on the MTN site I should use will be welcome

You shouldn't need MTN software to use the device on the MTN network.

You can download Mobile Partner (http://www.huawei.com/mobileweb/en/doc/list.do?type=-1&id=5600) for the E180 from Huawei's website.

You can also try MDMA (http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=59080).

I definitely wouldn't use the MTN software, which is both clunky and aesthetically extremely unpleasing! (The word 'emetic' comes to mind....)

The generic Huawei software is definitely the way to go, and has the advantage of being instantly switchable between networks, unlike the VC or MTN software.

Ginggs' excellent MDMA software also works a treat unless you are using a netbook, because it is too deep for netbook screens. Come in ginggs are you receiving...... :-)

Loud & clear! How big is the usable part of your display in pixels, less toolbars, etc?
