Going forward into 2010,

The ONLY Operator that is going to LEAD a cut in data prices is going to be Telkom................................Others must Follow or FAIL.

I would love to know as well...

Cos this no-sharing policy of yours is getting tiresome, I'm clearly going to have to get some from the source instead.

So you have inside info on the corporate strategies of all the ISPs?

lol thread.

Upset? I was awoken from a perfectly good nap with promises of 99 virgins

It's believable.. Vodacom and MTN aren't going to be dropping their data prices to anything reasonable any time soon, it would take about a 80% cut in their prices.

If you count Neotel as mobile broadband by 2010, then they also have very low data prices.

When have Telkom ever lead anything?

To be fair they have literally just lead in the data prices for 3G, which is what DXL is talking about apparently. They undercut the cell providers by quite a lot, not too hard to do seeing as their prices are insane.

Ok, this makes sense and is very possible and also most probably going to happen.

The only way Telkom Mobile can make any inroads is to undercut all others' prices and/or bundle lots of other services into 'converged services' packages.

And to give away free handsets....

VodaCom Stole First March on Telkom Mobile ...........

VodaCom Stole First March on Telkom Mobile ...........already by launching MMS Bundles.

Telkom Mobile was supposed to be the first Operator to Launch MMS bundles in SA. But VodaCom seems to have just Launched it at low rates too. Seems Telkom has to go a little Lower.

Hope they don't get all Telkom Mobiles secrets before Telkom Mobile Actually launches. This could spell a little trouble.

Anyway lets just wait and see.

This forum happens to get Operators working very quickly.

:p

From now on NO more inside INFO.

Oh, yes..

Vodacom released MMS bundles because you posted earlier today that Telkom were going to lead a new round of cuts in Data Tariffs.

Please, do you understand how long it takes something like that to filter through an organisation the size of Vodacom. My guess would be MMS Bundles have been thought about and planned for at least a year.

I'm switchnig to Telkom Mobile anyway regardless of what the yellow or blue behemoths do. Their network is brand new and underutilised, they also have the best 3G speeds. I'm tired of MTNs rubbish call quality and busy network.

VodaCom Reacts to Competition, they are afraid

I never made any mention of MMS bundles. Just the fact that we will be in for better mobile broadband prices than we are currently paying.

eg. No more R2 a meg for ordinary prepaid users. Telkom Mobile already R1 per meg.

OOB Rate already dropped to 30c per megabyte by Telkom Mobile

Better value than we are currently paying for Mobile Data Bundles. More megs for less bucks. ?????????????????????????????????:)

Telkom is so secretive about their plans is because of this very reason. Other operators stealing the show from them.

And i guess Vodacom is also planning lower Tariffs and lower data prices too, maybe they are thinking of it and planning to launch it in 2011

Strange that it takes them 2 to 3 years to make decisions.

Putting it mildly i Hate Vodacom.
