Hi, I'm sure this info is somewhere on this site but i just can't find it, i have also looked at JAWUG website and I realise it must be there too but it is still elluding me, so could someone be so kind as to answer my questions/point me in the direction of the link im looking for.

1) What equipment do I need to join JAWUG and/or network with more then one friend, not neccessarily on JAWUG, not too far away (assuming LOS)?

2) How much should i expect to pay? Is there a way to get it for less.. ?

Please bear in mind I don't know very much about this so a little info about the hardware would be greatly appreciated, I have read about the JAWUG kit but I have no idea what most of the stuff in there is?!? Also I would like to connect to more then one person (does this matter?)

Thanks (and apologies)

If you guys are within a hundred metres or so you should be able to get away with the cantenna

The kit is for one radio and one antenna.
The antenna that you choose determines how many people can connect to you.

The JawugKit is currently priced at R2000, but we will be redoing the costing on that to bring it down alot more. Stay tuned, new pricing will be up in the next week or 2. (Keep in mind that the JawugKit includes everything... Pole, bracket, bolts, etc)

Daffy .. do you stock the Linksys AGO41 , i think the model # is correct . Supposed to be a ADSL modem router. If so can you PM me the price. ;)

The Linksys ADSL Modems aren't ICASA Type Approved yet (Strangely, the Wireless + ADSL Modems are).
I've been nagging the local Linksys Distributions for a few months now...

From what I can see in the picture, you're not using PoE for the kit, so you have the power cable and ethernet cable running up to the antenna. Is this right?

Yeah.. but that has changed.
The kit now uses Power over Ethernet.
