How much?

I currently trying to order the 3G Router Gateway 960 from Telkom!

Hi Python...you looking @ R2600.00 including VAT @ 14% I would say. If you like, you can PM me your email address and I can send you the PDS spec sheet that includes a pic of the router.

@ocleroux : Any data sheet or anything like that?

The one thing I don't see it a port for an external 3G yagi antenna. Or am I missing it? Since this is a Novatel product, I wonder if they used the same connector that they used for the older Novatel cards? I still have my pigtail for those old cards.

If no port for external antenna....that means this product is not for customers who are in a low coverage area. I wonder how the internal antenna performs, if the coverage is not that great.

I remember from my days with the older Novatel 3G PCMCIA cards, that the internal antennas in those cards were really bad, compared to Option or Huawei PCMCIA cards. Hopefully they have improved this in their newer products.

I do have a spec sheet in PDF format yes, and i have mailed this to one of the guys higher up in the thread already. I just doint know how to post hit here for you guys to download.

Something like this or the B970 routher would be cool for someone like me for example. The 3G signal is brilliant in my houses lounge, but terrible in my room where I use my lapto the most, so if I were to put the router in my lounge and connect to the router via WiFi then I will get great 3G.

Has anyone used this product yet? Any comments on how it performs on the Vodacom network?

huh what now? First you guys bash me on the head for even so much as posting contract options for a 3G modem on here....now you wanna suck a router out of me on loan? I dont think so boetta! :p:D

HEHE, we know you got a stash of 3G devices in your bottom drawer ;)

I cant watch it on work PC. Vodacom IT department has our PC's locked down so tight I refer to mine as a HP DX2300 Virgin model hehehe.

LOL. Every day OC gets to work determined to break it....

Funniest I saw was at one of the Vodacom stores in Canal Walk, I tried to show the manager that Data SIM really was a product, we went to the Vodacom website, but as usual couldn't find anything on the menus so tried to do a search, but NO! Vodacom's site uses Google to search itself and Vodacom employees can't go to Google. DOH!

Yes well, at least you wont catch a Vodacom employee looking at porn like that guy on Sky news lol.

I can at least google the vodacom website. :-)

Is this device network locked?
Would I be able to use it on the Telkom 3G network?
(Sorry to hijack the Vodacom thread)

Will be unlocked (all GSM devices in SA are). Should work on Telkom.
