@MTNHandsets: Sony Ericsson K750/W800 ETA?

The phone should be getting released hopefully some time next week in the UK,they keep pushing the date back.. :mad:

This phone is sure to be a big hit.
There lots of orders for this baby already

Its a difficult question to answer due to competitive concerns etc. The best I can do at the moment is to let you know when Sony Ericsson expects to have them available locally.

You should see the K750 around during July and the W800 during October
 
Well, it's July, and only 2 weeks until I am due for an upgrade.

The K750i is the only choice, but it's nigh on impossible to get any information out of my service provider regarding the availability of the phone.

One person tells me that it'll be available this week, and another tells me that it hasn't yet been approved by the network, so it could be ages still.

MTNHandsets...? Any updated news regarding the Sony Ericsson K750i?
 
I wouldn't hold my breath... The 6680 took much longer than expected to actually be available in shops... Its still not easy to get!

I'd guess the K750i will only be available in shops in about 2 months time... :mad:

Yep you can be waiting forever for the phone "just a few months away". There's always something better on the horizon.

I got the 6680 as well, pretty nice phone all things considered but the interface can be a little sluggish at times. The best feature for me is being able to retrieve e-mail anywhere without having to carry anything extra... 3G doesn't hurt either :)
 
mmm, yes w800, so pretty.

i want one. october is too far away...

if anyone has an updated arrival date for the w800 pls let me know.
 
OK, this is my last attempt at getting the "helpful" MTN reps on this forum to give an answer about the K750i...as everyone can see by this thread, its been over 3 months with no straight answers from MTN...

Let me share my intelligence thus far:
Vodashop can get me a K750 (Vlive version) in 2 days. I dont particularly like the branding though, and would prefer an unbranded. I also dont particularly like Vodacom.
I do particularly like the K750i though.

Unless I can get a clear ETA out of an MTN rep, I'm gonna have to go with the vlive version in the next few days.

Nashua Mobile reckon the K750i will be available 1 Sept.

MTNHandsets how accurate is this??

The only person to respond to my queries in the MTN forum is in fact a Vodacom reseller...MTN you can wave me goodbye.

My parting advice: learn to communicate with your customers, fire all your sales reps, and GET STOCK OF GOOD PHONES INTO THE FREAKING MARKET (last time I checked good phones helped sell contracts :P)!!

I'm getting pretty close to throwing in the towel myself... It's just been far too long now without any indication of when we can expect the K750i.

I emailed customer care at MTN, and got a reply saying that the phone is expected towards the end of September.
 
God it's annoying that Vodacom users are getting their K750i handsets, even if they ARE Vodafone branded.

Come on MTN, PLEASE!
