So I appreciate all that CB has exposed over the last few years and I mildly enjoy the show. But for the life of me, why oh why three times a week.

It is freaken depressing already to end the weekend with CB, now we got to be depressed three times a week. DSTV you need a wake up call.....

They seem to have divided the show up into the different types of exposes ....if that makes any sense whatsoever :D

If you listen closely to everything they say, you will notice that the Carte Blanche team and most of the people they interview are not that smart in their field. I watched the episode about ATM-based credit card theft and they were really just yapping on about technology that stopped working with current security measures years ago.

LOL ... agree

The show is for the illiterate that cannot read Husigenooit or The Sun :D

It's bad enough with all the CSI shows (although some of them finished me thinks). But Carte Blanche three times a week is a bit much - it's becoming like e.tv and their WWE.

Yes, me too. Not becasue their investigative reporting is bad, in opposite, its very good.

But their shows are based on extremes which are emotionally draining and heavy on the heart. Too much on a Sund eve..........now x 3 ???

No thanks.

Do you always watch shows that frustrates you or do you watch TV 99% of your free time.

I think they're trying either to get us all the emigrate or slit our wrists.

As much as Carte Blanche may be doing an excellent job of exposing the ruin of this once great country, they are doing an even better job of making us all depressed..............

+1

CB is biased, sensationalised rubbish. And all their credibility went out the window years ago with Ruda's special episode: The Freddy Kugel Magic People Finder Snake Oil.

Can't believe people actually give them any credit. They can earn it all back if they do an exposé on SA cartels and monopolies, starting with....
DStv

LOL....no really i did!!!

Haven't watched CB for a while, too depressing most the time.
Also the whole green earth and the look how much money we gave to this hospital thing got a bit annoying.

Out of interest, which period are you referring to as 'once great'?

Best reasoning for not watching I've ever read.

I agree. Starts Monday off on a sh*tty note and no-one needs that.

Once great country

"Once great" refers to the times where we were building and not destroying infrastructure, when there were more honest cops that corrupt ones, when the useless people in government departments still did something useful, and when TV sucked worse than today.

Yes, I admit that the population was not free like today, and that the builders of yesterday were not the greatest beings on earth, with some disgusting practises towards anyone who wasn't a member of the "volk".

What do we have today ?

We are all free:

1. To be maimed and killed with no-one in govt giving a toss.
2. To watch all the infrastructure going down the toilet
3. To watch idiot politicians who seem hell bent on making bigger mistakes than some of the idiot politicians of the past.
4. To watch unemployement rise, with idiots in Govt buy bigger cars and houses.
5. To watch graft and corruption become the national sport - worthy of an Olympic goal.
6. To watch the education levels of our kids crumble.
7. To read horror stories of highjacking, rapes, and murders committed by cops with impunity.
8. To watch the justice system fall in ruins around our ears.

Does this leave you in any doubt that although many practices (particularly ones related to human rights) were abhorrent in the past, we're not much better off today ?

:erm: Cart Blanche always exposed corruption, grime and crime - even in the 80's, so "once great" wasn't really that great. It was never the fluffy show you make it out to be.

No, I agree it was never great - when I was a kid, we always used to get harrassed by members of the "volk" pulling up next to us when we were driving, and telling us to go back where we came from. They really went out of their way to make us feel unwelcome.

I just hoped that things would improve, but they haven't. If anything they're getting worse, with no end in sight.

As for leaving the country and going back where we came from, if it was really that great there, we wouldn't have come here in the 1st place !
