Nokia 5800 xm v40. firmware released

Wow you fast was just about to post. Downloading now. Hear it has kinetic scrolling and new home screen themes! :)
 
Was on nokia users when it was posted.Will update tomorrow AM on my way out at the mo supposedly like the 5530xm
 
you got to be joking... i finally upgraded to v31 yesterday. siiiiiiiigh moar downloads...
 
Busy updating.

From what I read:
Kinetic scrolling, but only in certain parts of the ui.
Homescreen like the 5530 - Contact carousel and music widget. new dialer/contact buttons.
Automatic switch to the full screen qwerty when rotated.

Will post back if I discover anything else.

only think new i've noticed is that my opera mini doesnt scroll anymore. havent got anything like the 5530

It should be available on most of the European codes. Try:
Euro 1 Red: 0558982
Euro 1 Black: 0573733

To get the new home screen, you have to use the contact bar home screen theme. You can hide the contact carousel if you want. It now allows more than 4 contacts. I'm sticking with the standard shortcuts screen.

Kinetic scrolling is awesome. All the 'double tap' lists as well as the gallery are now much easier to scroll. Nice and smooth.

I really like the auto switching keyboard. It switches between standard phone keypad and full screen qwerty depending on how you rotate the phone, so now you have the best keypad available at all times.

I don't have opera mini, but opera mobile 10 scrolls fine.
 
Thanks hehe. I just changed to euro 1 and it's updating now :)

Also, i tried both euro codes and the ota update via *#0000# both said no updates found.
But the NSU is working.

Yup, OTA didn't work for the previous update either. Hope they fix it.

I used the euro 1 black code for this update. prefer the basic black theme.
 
managed to find all those features u mentioned. and opera working again after phone restart.
 
The keyboard changing to qwerty on rotate was really needed. Now use it much more often. Everything else works well. It also seems much more stable or that might just be me.
 
This is good news, I was waiting for this update. This will be the first time I'll be updating my 5800. Just a quick question. I have about 60 games and applications installed on my phone, most of them on the memory card. Will I have to re-install all of them after the update?
 
Noticed another new thing: The incoming call screen is different, you now need to slide your finger across the screen to accept or reject calls. Or was this new with v31?

You don't need to reinstall apps afaik. Not available on the MTN code.
 
I've changed my product and can get my update via NSU. My problem is that my internet drops connection and the download starts over again. Is it possible to get the standalone download somewhere and let NSU find it locally on the computer to install?
