Satellite tv to watch channels from other country

Hi can anyone tell me if there is any way to watch the channels of other country through Satellite tv. If so let me know where I can get the satellite tv.
 
Mahesh... Indian nick so you must be Indian...
Ask around, the Pakis sell them, but you can get upto 600 channels free, no subscription. R600 for dish and install...

Oh and its illegal!!

600 channels from WHERE? I mean, which satellite(s)? :confused:

closer to 2k for the install, depends on what size dish you have to use

the cops dont seem to mind too much
 
wtf are you guys talking about?! 600 channels from friggen where? afaik those satellites have a footprint and they don't cover half of the globe but only a part of it - so you can't receive uk TV signals or something, wtf is 600 channels coming from? north into africa?!

there is virtually nothing above, below left or right of south africa - only the UK but we will NEVER catch that signal as it is just TOO FAR north

i don't believe it.... crap man!

yeah and I bet these are the same idiots stating you get free internet as well.

Like sure they gonna give you a Transmitting LNB / Dish setup
 
There is definitely not 600 channels of one satellite and it is definitely not R600 for the install...
 
With the lack of feedback from JK8...I guess it was indeed too good to be true :(

If I remember correctly, and this goes back a couple of years, the installation was around R2,500 and its a bigger dia disk I think 1.6M ? the channels were mostly Indian and Pakistani public channels a total of 20+ however some of the good ones were going to be encrypted soon. I was also told that you could align the disk to get middle eastern channels rather than Indian and Pakistani, again, some where around 20+ in total.
 
I'm not really clued up with c-band,but i do know this.

1 You can get about 200 channels with a motorised 3.6m dish...arab,indian,paki and african.There's some english like cnn international(the europe feed) etc.
2 Its important to get a 24" actuator (motor) to give you more than 90deg on the arc.
3 I've heard the dreambox don't handle c-band lekka,so you might wanna check that out.
4 For maximum channels get a ku/c band lnb...if you want ku band too,you need a 3.6 solid dish,not mesh.Mesh don't handle the ku signal very good.
5 A 3.6m mesh dish is approx R4500 and a solid one is more.
6 A total decent setup cost can be around R7000...a 1.8m c-band setup with no motor will cost around R4000...approx 20-40 channels.

A decent 3.6 solid dish ku/c-band motorised setup can reach i think 17 satellites...based on where you are.Cape Town is a biatch.

Most encryption on c-band is a piece of cake.

Many existing nochoice installers can do a c-band install.

FTA Indian Channels

Hi Mahesh Bhai

I have a 3.1M motorised C/KU LNB band satellite dish with a simple Envision FTA receiver. I can only receive C-Band channels for now because my Ku band has'nt been fitted yet. Don't worry its totally legal, since I bought it from Space TV. My wife and I enjoy the following indian channels:

Aastha TV (Hindi Religious)
Aastha B (Bhajans)
FETV (Hindi & English family & religious movies & songs)
India TV (News)
Love Star (Hindi Songs new & old & movie reviews - 24 hours)
Sindh TV (Not sure, I think its Gujerati or Urdu)
K2 (Urdu, but there is Hindi movies & game shows)

There is also a programme called Capitol on the Pulse channel. They screen Hindi movies with English subtitles during the week. I remember seeing Bunti Aur Bubli. They also show American Indian (Seikhs, Punjabi, Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, Telegu, and Gujerati) films. These films are made locally in America for the Indian audience, but they are strictly in English.

I think that its well worth it to buy the whole package once off. Think about those who pay +-R600 a month for the full bouquet and South/North Indian bouquet. This FTA will pay for itself. It is also flexible because there is always new and exciting FTA programmes being introduced. All you have to do is point and watch. I enjoy it and so does bhaabi. Can't wait to get my Ku Band LNB so I can get more channels.
