Nintendo president not impressed with iPad, 3-D games or HD gaming

I can get the ipad as it really looks like a large iphone but 3d and hd gaming no good?

Imagine hd 3d gaming

Obviously nintendo will shrug it off have you seen the graphics they have for the Wii really.

Maybe get your product a notch up ortwo and then we talk again.

I can promise you 99% of people want better looking games in 3D or HD graphics.

Its sad how people can be in so blinded and in such denial regarding techological progress due to their own inferior products :wtf:

Nintendo is missing the point. The iPad is not about hardware and capabilities so it is senseless to make comments on that.

It is shiny and it has an apple logo - that is all its target audience wants. Verdict : SUCCESS :p

60m units sold, not so sure everyone wants hd and 3d. 60 odd million units sold of crappy graphics tell you something i think. People might want variety more

*nods* at previous posters, just weird all of this now after all the praise Nintendo was given at the "confirmed" rumour of a Wii HD in Q2 2010...

60m sold, indeed, but how many of them have been sold because parents are cheap. So kiddie want TV games, parents see Wii is cheap, then buy. I am upset with the Wii, I am a gamer and I want awesome games, now the Wii comes along and screws the whole demographics and companies make more and more shovelware. Reminds me of the Atari crash back in the day with all their retarded shovelware. Luckily we have 360 and PS3 to keep companies from churning out even more shovelware.

i don't agree... nintendo had a simple strategy, make a gaming console that will be fun for kids and one the entire family can enjoy (minus me).

the Wii is a rubbish system, don't get me wrong but they have a target market that they're pwning... the re-make of crappy mario sold over 10m units if i'm not mistaken (can't remember if that figure is correct) ... obviously for serious gamers a Wii just wont do but they have got a market out there.

in my opinion a serious gamer wouldn't settle for anything less than a PC.... :D yep, i went there :D

Edit:

back on topic, nintendo seems to want to keep their gaming concepts as simple and affordable as possible ... i remember a comment made by nintendo regarding HD TV's and how they're not out to sell those like Sony is etc.

actually, out of all the articles on the ipad posted so far, this one has made the most sense.
the surprise of the ipad for me was not what they excluded (the iphone 1.0 lacked a plethora of features), but what they didn't do.
where is the cheesy nifty new technology that they could give a cool name to in order to give a sense of novelty and superiority in fanbois' minds?
apparently the next iphone is going to have some kind of sensory flexible casing which can be massaged to give input commands.
that's what the ipad is missing.

uhm facebook? no no that's a bad idea? what are they thinking, what will it look like? people updating their status everyday? uploading pics and tagging it? it will never catch on LOL

I'm unimpressed by it too.

It proves the obvious - the only reason Apple products sell well is because of their branding and marketing. That's not necessarily a bad thing.
