Before you leave Neotel , try these steps to imporove download speed!!**

1.If you see any cable of an old-unused antenna , don't let it go to waste.
Plug it into the modem's antenna slot and see if it increases signal&speed.
2.This step will only work if you connect wirelessly.
First connect the backup battery to the Neoflex router , and unplug the cable power supply.
Call your son or daughter , and ask your child to go out in the open and routinely throw the modem up in the air (this might increase signal strength , thus improving internet speed)
3.If steps 1&2 don't work, bring your Neotel modem near you.Then take a hammer and bring it close to the modem.This might motivate the modem to "pick up its pace".

Really mature estmmn2, this thread will just cause frustrated Neotel customers to lash out at you.
It's frustrating enough as it is dealing with Neotel issues and then to have an idiot come and try be funny .. just really makes our day doesn't it ?

I WAS thinking about getting Neotel for personal use. Not anymore.

No, Kasbah, this is the most logical forum help topic in a long while. I would just add that I would seriously like to hook the centre wire of the antenna cable to the HT+ wire of my electric fence and then connect to the modem (obviously wirelessly connected to the LAN). This thing is driving me nuts. I would experience great emotional pleasure to see it go up in smoke.

The only thing that would make a Flex router semi useful (no use for a Prime or Lite) is the fact that you can use it as a wireless access point. You know when you sometimes get to scrape around 5 to 10 year old computer junk? Sometimes you can pick up an old video card, or even a 10mbit/s Ethernet card and use it in an old PC. You can even reuse an old GPRS modem.... but you will pile the Neotel hardware along with the old tape based telephone answering machine. Between Neotel and iBurst the hardware is not really usuable elsewhere. Maybe it is but it is not marketted that way.

I had 2 disconnections while typing the stuff above.

That's true ,it works if you use wireless adapters or even a wifi-enabled cell phone, even though it's no special router.(Doesn't have that 802.11n stuff)
