Does anybody know if you can use wireless-g connects 3g service with the huawei dongles from vodacom/vodafone. I've got the K3715 (the 7.2 Mbps) or is it locked to only use vodacom simcards?

Can use any sim. Vodacom dongles are not network locked. Might have to change the apn though if for different networks.
The Vodacom modems are not network locked, but I believe the Vodafone Mobile Connect dashboard doesn't make it easy for you to choose another operator. You might have to look at some alternatives.
