I've decided to buy a 8Gb MicroSD card for my cell-phone. (16 Gb prices are still a little on the high side)

After browsing around & checking on PriceCheck, etc. I have decided on the:

Transcend Ultra Performance MicroSD Flash Memory 8 Gb SDHC Class 6 (TS8GUSDHC6)

I have found the following online suppliers who have it:

Code:
[FONT="Courier New"]Supplier                        Price
[url]www.xtremesolutions.co.za[/url] R 192.72
[url]www.vexon.co.za[/url] R 208.07
[url]www.asg.co.za[/url] R 230.00
[url]www.comx-computers.co.za[/url]	R 231.00
[url]www.nivo.co.za[/url] R 231.00
[url]www.prophecy.co.za[/url] R 240.83
[url]www.technovision.co.za[/url] R 249.66[/FONT]

The price range is not extreme, so I'm not going to choose on price, I'd rather base my choice on the reliability and speed of the delivery, so ...

1.) Anyone know of a vastly superior deal? (16Gb for less than double, etc)
2.) Anyone aware of any of these dealers I should avoid?
3.) Any of these dealers REALLY do same-day delivery in Sandton?

Hmmm Sybaritic has the 8GB Kingston @ R174... but it's a class 4

I have one of these in my Touch Pro 2 and I honestly don't see the need for a Class 6 card

Here's the one you want with a reader @ R250 : http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/product_info.php?products_id=19269

I've never had a problem with Sybaritic and most people find them quite reliable.
They have a few delivery options so you can decide on that

With regards to people on your list, I have either never heard of xtremesolutions (their site is even down at the moment), vecon, asg or technovision.
Com-X is good and reliable, so is Prophecy. Have seen Nivo a few times but never bought from them.

With any on-line store, make sure they have stock before you order

I have an 8Gb Kingston for my N82. 1 Year old and its starting to show some bad signs.
Very slow write speeds all of a sudden.

But my Transcend cards (2 x 8Gb class 6) in my PSP are doing great after nearly the same amount of time.

Don't forget to include the shipping prices in your costs. Some places have much cheaper delivery even though they cost a bit more, might save money in the long run.

With that choice of shops you listed i would go for Prophecy easily.

Thanks, Guys.

I checked stock ... both sybaritic & prophecy are out of the USB combo deal, but prophecy has the straight card with 2 SD (SD & miniSD) adaptors ... for R227 + R50 delivery = R277.00

Ordered ... will see when it arrives.

Sandisk have a Mobile Ultra microSDhc that's also CLASS 6. (5 YEAR GUARANTEE)
It also comes with a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 MobileMate™ Micro Reader.(10 YEAR GUARANTEE).

These are pretty fast and I'm convinced it will be best in that group.

@Sackboy

That may be so ... but I didn't see it available when I looked ... it doesn't help to have a great product if no-one can buy it.

The online dealers tend to stock things they can markup and get more profit from. Sandisk suppliers/distributors have all the latest.

Firstly thanks for the positive comments in this thread :)

Otherwise, in response to the above - we try to list literally every product our suppliers offer us, with a couple of exceptions (if the product is of poor quality and we don't trust selling it we don't add it). However, we have literally thousands of products we are still in the process of adding - so if you want something specific and we don't have it listed, we'll find out for you and let you know.

Otherwise, in many (infact, I'd say most cases) the SA distributors do not bring in every single SKU - they cherry pick the products they feel will sell in SA.
