This note on the BB update software always freaks me out. It's never taken 30 minutes but it's still weird for anything cell phone related to take that long these days. Gives me the heebies.
 
The purpose of the message is to warn you _not_ to freak out, because if you do, then you may just unplug the handset and cause yourself some grief.

At least you can have peace of mind that the process will be lengthy and you are now expecting it.

Imagine you had no warning, first thought would be that your device is bricked :(

Since it appears that it is not responding you may just freak out :)

These are smartphones, they warn you not to freak out ;)
