ADSL rental price decreased ... ISP Price?

So with the drop of rental charges .... are there any indications as to whether ISP prices will change?

Wouldnt this include UUNet? If so shouldnt we be seeing either a drop in price or just as good - more bandwidth!!!
 
If anything, it will become more EXPENSIVE... they'll want to swell their profits!
 
How can the ISP's swell their profits if it is only the Telkom line rental that is going down - the ISP's are not losing or gaining.

If Telkom wants to fill their coffers they should reduce prices further than they did yesterday.

Its a given that people want a phone and/or internet connection, and making it as affordable as possible will increase their revenues as every man and his dog will want to surf the net for the first time..

I told my boet that prices are going down, indicating a 192 will be R500 extra on his home phone bill - he said it's not good enough, he'd rather do the occassional dialup and do his surfing/emailing at work.

Fact is, his home line is rarely above R400 a month. With ADSL on top, it would be R700 a month, given that he uses R200 pm on his phone dialing up.

R300 TOTAL is the figure to aim for and that would be for a 512 line !

There are at least 100 000 people who feel the same way.
 
Doesn't matter. Telkom will probably introduce a "buy surfing minutes" for ADSL by the way things are going. Wasn't it said that a local cap would be introduced? So to counter the drop in line rental they're going to make us buy more accounts or bigger caps.
