Bharti bids 10.7 billion dollars for Zain assets

Well this is much bigger news than WebAfrica's new price announcements...

Seems like Bharti and MTN are now gonna be direct competitors in many African countries, instead of partners...
 
I knew MTN was bigger than Zain, however $15 Billion more bigger?

Good luck to Bharti trying to sort out the profitability of Zain Africa

Africa accounts for around 60 percent of Zain's 65 million customers but contributes barely 15 percent to the group's net profit.

That would concern me if I was a Bharti shareholder, no wonder the share price is down 5%. If companies want an entry point into the African market, MTN is the way to go, IMO.

totally agreed this should have had the main spot headline - and the WA pricing is not all that competitive.
