I do hope that Dianne Kobe-Beef ... I mean - Kohler-Barnard ... remembers to apologise for using the F-word.

Otherwise she might find herself kidnapped by the president while she's out jogging.

Got to laugh at the whole parliamentary process. The whole point of the opposition is to point out Government failings and bring them to task, but if they do they get kicked out. All the while ANC members can call opposition members racists and "counter revolutionaries" (WTF) and there's no problem.

The ANC are acting more and more like the party of a Dictator. Can anyone say ZANU-PF?

Bunch of thugs and lawless idiots.

I wouldn't ascribe it to that. It's more likely that Nomaindia is simply too incompetent to do the job, nor understand the implications of her actions. She is seriously not very bright.
 
So are we not allowed to criticize the government or the president now?

It's a pity we can't get the ANC to less than 50% of parliament. A walk out essentially would be more powerful since there would be no quorem.

What would the chances be that this is even remotely possible, they've got it too good riding that gravy train.

It may take a few elections before people honestly do realise they've been lied to. But the general break down in communication between ANC councillors and their communities would be a good indication that the ANC may be in free fall, however choices of opposition parties are lacking.
 
100% support action of COPE and DA

ANC is no control themselves and the trend is becoming dictatorship, it is no doubt.

oppress the opposition voice, oppress freedom of expression, oppress freedom of news reporting, deploy government officials to be the acting judge, appointing "buddy" to national intelligence and constitutional court judge ........ etc. The ambition of zuma he does NOT want to be a president but an emperor. The road to zim is nearer.

ANC and zuma have no leadership and managing skills to make South Africa a better place to live but only “power hunger monsters”. They must be stopped. Opposition parties must act now, if not, that will be too late. If possible, sanction should be imposed NOW.

She used to be the Mayor in Cape Town where she became known as Mama-india Imperfekto and failed dismally, let me not go into detail, so I can only agree that she is incompetent.
She is just another Ja-boetie/sister to the ANC.

i honestly feel that parliament is run more like a school than a bully. one thing i've learned in life is that even if what you say is true, if you don't use tact you're going to piss a lot of people off. while i respect what they did and greatly admire it, i sadly don't know what was said exactly, in what tone and under what circumstances, and tho i have many disagreements with and dislikes about the ANC i just feel that they aren't a huge collective of evil two-timing members.

Mfeketo is incompetent overall, but an evil conspirator? i could be wrong, it's just how i see it first thing in the morning.
 
we can really bring anc under 50%, we need to organise before it becomes dangerous to oppose the ANC/gov, the next opp is the locals next year, know your ward, i really don't care which party wins as long as we can get as many people as possible not voting for the anc "the don't vote anc thing", this unlike trying to make the wes-cape secede is something do'able__ah let's go. I think the anc can lose/loose in all municipalities where unemployment is not 70%

The ANC are sounding more like ZANU-PF each day. I know that they have want to muzzle the media when they criticise the ANC, for a long time now, and it looks like they are starting to do it. Now they want to silence the opposition as well. Happened in other African countries, and is happening here, nothing surprising there.

If this is not nipped in the bud NOW, the same will happen to SA as happened to most of Africa. I see that I am on the same wavelength as mine_dump.

Just remember that Imperfekto (thanks BTTB), is deputy speaker - she is incompetent and insecure, and probably not used to doing the job. I reckon she took a hard line to try and create an impression, without understanding what she was doing, or the implications of such. Please don't ascribe too much to this women.
 
How does walking out help the situation...?
What happens thereafter...they walk back in and walk back out again...
Is this really the most effective way of dealing with the situation?
