Look at shutter speeds now and I've sorta kinda made a choice what I want : Canon SX20IS with shutter speed 15 sec - 1/3200

However another cropped recently (Pentaz X70) with a shutter speed of 4 sec - 1/4000.

Is 1/3200 fast enough to catch things like cars racing at Kyalami or other fast moving objects?

1/3200 of a second is MORE than fast enough...

Think about it Dolby, if you could do continuous shooting with that it would equate to 3200 frames of footage every second....

Its better than 4 though?

(i'm basing my original post, on the assumption that the choice is between the 2 cameras Dolby listed)

You both have a point.

15 is sufficient ; 4 is not. I know I'm definatley lacking on the slow side of things, thought I may be missing on the high side.

SX20IS is winning so far ;)
