Hi All

I have the following scenario:

I would like to access my admin work pc remotely via my 3G laptop, possibly using remote desktop or VNC.

I intend to purchase another 3G usb modem for this purpose as I do not want to be tied to a monthly ADSL contract, but I do not want the reception lady to be able to access the Internet at the same time.

What's the best way to do this?
Could the SIM be setup to allow incoming data connections only? and would remote desktop work as I'm thinking it needs to send some packets to the laptop on the other end to display the screens on the host pc?

close port 80 with a software firewall, or install a firewall that lets you pick which programs can access the internet
 
You might be interested in the "unrestricted" apn as well since you'll be using it for remote desktop.

Get the form from www.vodacom.co.za, fill it out and fax it to activate it on that sim.
