Hi,

I have taken over the IT work for a friend of mine, who happens to be a real novice with all things IT.

Her old "PC guy" installed the software for her Telkom 3G on her old laptop (dead as of yesterday).

Where do I find the software on the Telkom 'site in order to get it working again please?

She has no CD for the software, and I can't find anything on the 'site.

Thanks, Nic

The software is embedded on the router or modem. Just plug in and it will install.

Thanks everyone. :)

I managed to find an old copy of the software hidden on the HDD which I managed to recover.

...but it was all to no avail as the old modem was not compatible with the new notebook anyways. Haha.

Cheers.

What type of modem is it?

It's an old Vodacom 3G card.

I don't much about these things.

It's a long flat thing which slides into a slot in the notebook.

Why do you ask? :)

Stay away from those modems (PCMCIA type 3G cards)

I had very bed experience with them.

Rather see if you can get a nice USB type 3G modem (for example E220 or E180 or K3565).

My friend upgraded to a USB modem. :)
